Hello everyone! I'm a UI/UX apprentice here at Amplitude Studios and I'm currently writing a professional thesis on accessibility in video games. For this, I made a short survey (~10 min) you can take part in to help me better understand your needs and write my thesis.

Anyone can answer it, whether you need/use accessibility options or not!

Have a good day!

You should allow to not choose an option here :

Question 19 : No option when we never contact Amplitude for games’ accessibility

I though there will be a confirm page before submit, so I submit it with some default answer for those questions (14 and 19) :x

Regards,
Elphy

Also done, and good luck on your thesis. Thank you for the work you do: accessibility is important, and while I’m fortunate in that accessibility options haven’t so far been a driver in my purchasing decision, I know it might not always be that way, and I’m delighted whenever I learn about new accessibility features that games introduce (for example, “Grounded” has a slider option to make spiders progressively more cartoonish for people with arachnophobia, and the option is under the accessibility menu, how great is that?)

Hello everyone and thanks to all the respondants! I'm keeping the survey up for a few more days so if you want to join in, now's the time! https://forms.office.com/r/Vef59EytVb

Oh I knew they had an arachnophobia option but didn't know it was this granular!

Wish I had found this when the survey was up.  :(  I'm a visually impaired gamer.  I have trouble reading small text and I have trouble with glare, which is why all my screens are black with white or yellow text.

I bought Humankind before it even released, but even before that I took part in one or two of the alpha tests.  My feedback to the devs then, and since, has been that Humankind is not easy to use for visually impaired.  In fact I haven't installed in about 6 months because of this.  The game screens are too bright and too transparent, and the map is too bright.  I really want to play it but it just doesn't seem like Amplitude is going to do anything about this stuff.  I'm not the only one who has complained.  Look on the Steam discussions and YouTube.  It's a shame because Endless Space was so much better visually than Humankind.  I was hoping for something similar but alas....

Hope your thesis went well btw and thanks for asking about accesibility.
