Can we get a buff for choosing to stick with the same culture? A buff that makes me consider not having a whole new emblematic district, trait and stronger updated unit? How about you can repeat your emblematic district each time you transcend? Double the trait yields and getting a small CS bonus for being proud of keeping with the same traidition.

Not disagreeing that it could be changed, but I think the fame bonus is supposed to make up for it.  Since, in the end, only fame matters.  I think my best game keeping the same culture the entire game earned almost 4000 more fame than my best game switching every era.

I think other bonuses are valid in addition to those existing for transcendence, although the fame bonus is interesting, it is not possible to do anything with it, while many EQs have multiple FIMS exploits, better adjacency bonuses and unique effects, which allows you to get era stars much faster, which indirectly from fame, something essential in a tight game where you can't spend several turns hoping to earn a star.

I wanted to create a thread on the topic, but well, better leave my thoughts here.

In the present state of the game, it seems there are few reasons to transcend and that it's mostly related to a poor availability of cultures more than the desire to get the 10% bonus.

The AI itself does almost never transcend.

I'd suggest one or more of the following:

1. Push the reward to 20%
2. Add the ability to change the affinity to a new one » in case a player had too little time to build the EQ, doesn't like the choice of cultures, etc. or is interested in the fame bonus but would also like some flexibility.
3. Add a new group of affinity stars » another way to boost a bit fame generation
4. Allow to grab a second affinity power » seems a bit like 2. Might be also away to have two and maybe get some cooldown to avoid some spam.
5. Some players push for the ability to get a bonus EQ per territory (so 1 per era).

Honestly, I enjoy the game the most when I'm the most efficient and strongest. I couldn't care less about fame and always end up winning by fame anyway (Get big, trade and conquer). If the transcend bonus would be 2000% I still would not take it. It's not fun to lose on a whole new culture, new traits and units.

My thoughts exactly. Fame is a nice win-measure, but the human will always know if they won or not regardless of fame score. 

AI rarely transcends unless they have the persona type - but I think that doesn't have to do with fame or anything, their personal leads them to pick a certain culture (*more or less!)

I think some simple buffs on EQ, EU and legacy trait might be sufficient. After all, early cultures legacy traits are very weak compared to later ones - +1/adjacent district compared to +1/population, for example. And EU is always going to be eras behind, so simple CS buff would help but not be OP.
