As most of you know we will release the HUMANKIND™ Cultures of Oceania on the Monday 11th
To celebrate this new DLC we will have a special stream starting 3PM CEST with our com dev team and two guests:
Etienne our Historian
Balthazar our Lead Game Designer
We will talk about both the Bonny Update and Oceania DLC, so if you have any questions related to History or Game Design feel free to drop them in the thread below.
We'll try to answer a few during this stream but we will probably not have time to answer all questions.
"Were there any major surprises when researching the cultures for the pack? As in learning something unexpected and fascinating about one of them, or was there any culture that wasn't considered for the pack, but became an obvious pick during research?"
And for Balthazar:
"If you don't mind me asking, what was the main drive behind such a major rework for trade system? Was it more like 'this is not working' or rather 'we can do better than this'?"
For clarity, I really don't want the second one to sound accusatory, I'm genuinely interested in attitude when tackling that stuff.
What part of this expansion was the most difficult to implement? Are there aspects of this update you wish to apply to other areas of the game? What lessons did you learn from this update that you are going to take with you to future games/updates?
Now that we've seen significant changes to trade and resource management, in addition to naval gameplay, what can expect next?
Will we see some kind of overhaul to religion, or reworking/tweaking of elements within that segment of the game?
Will we see more challenges that run a la the Da Vinci challenge in game anytime soon? I preferred them to the current variety, as grinding away at objectives on my own rather than making it something to be compared against with others can be uncomfortable, given my presumably poor ability as a player in comparison.
And, of course, I'd love to know which cultures, if any, they can think that they'd personally very much enjoy playing, and including, in the game; be it for mechanical reasons or something more flavourful; personally, I'm excited for the prospect of the Irish, Burgundian, Malay, and many others in concept!
Oh and, of course, it wouldn't be 'asking a question of the devs' if I didn't mention my desperation to have my Persona wear some comfortable, modern, frames; I understand the technical issues involved and the fact that the glasses we have that do exist, on streamer avatars, are attached to their hair of all things, but surely there's room for styles of hair that include said frames, at least? Possibly?
