One-player games

I hope that the final version of Humankind will allow for one-player games. Sometimes I get so sick of encountering AI empires and I just feel like building a bunch of cities.

Anyways, I made a comment on a YouTube video saying this and someone replied agreeing with me and suggesting that I should make a post on this forum repeating what I said there here.

Oh, and I suppose there's also money to be made for Amplitude by incorporating one-player games as an option. There are competitive empire-building games and peaceful city-builders, but there is a niche in the market for peaceful empire-building games that isn't getting filled. And with how satisfying it is to extend cities into sprawling areas on the map in Humankind--and how beautiful the game looks to boot--this niche could get filled very well.

I hope I've conveyed what I'm trying to get across okay. My brain's kind of dumb haha.

Hey Klorb!

Ithink that is an interesting idea, but i suppose it would not be a priority. Afterall, the point of Humankind is the interaction between civilisations and cultures, tracing our own journey through our own created history, rather than the empire-building aspect of the game. It probably would not be difficult to add though. Further, with the territory mechanic, there would not really be that much to do bar skip turns waiting for the next district or building to be completed.

Hope this suggestion makes it to the devs though.

Gonna add a +1 to this idea as well. Being able to play this game when you're looking for a stimulating and challenging strategy experience or when you're kinda braindead and just want to make nice looking cities sounds like a fun idea! Would be a pretty neat thing to come home from work or some other draining event and just enjoy the scenery and music while you make some peaceful cities.

Add on an increase to maximum zoom and it would be perfect!

Being naturally generous, I'm gonna add a +2 to this idea (and if it's not enough, I might go up as much as 3 !) :)

I would actually love a one-player game, either in the form of a sandbox/creative mode, or a "separate" one-player game with its own rules/goals/achievements to win.

As I see it, having a sandbox/creative mode, would actually allow every player to train (so as a tutorial for city building/management), and/or polish/refine one's strategy for city management, specifically for civilizations with Agrarian/Builder/Aesthete/Merchant traits/affinities.

I can really picture that kind of mode as a perfect way to increase every player's skill for the competitive mode (player vs AI or player vs player).

And finally :

Oh yeah ! +10 to this one, I haven't been testing any scenario yet, but from what I've seen so far, I would reeeeaaaally love to zoom in more on the map !
