The game should say what tribe the attacking army belongs to.

I think the Metternich update (or this week's post-TRW patch) adds a tiny circle below the post-battle screen, and if you hover over that, it tells you which IP is responsible.  Do you know if that's there post-battle in your game, and just not pre-battle?

I agree, it should be there pre-battle, too.
