Religious Hostility just gives leverage for free

Hi,

I want to check if this is how it is supposed to be.

Religious hostility civic gives the player a permanent grievance against players of a different faith.

With TWR that grievance can be renounced for 5 leverage. And this works over and over again, it's just tedious and doesn't feel right.

Am I missing something here?

That's how the mechanic has worked since the very launch of the game, comes back every turn. Also really what makes trading after the Ancient era quite difficult because the AI keeps the grievance coming. But great for starting sanctioned wars.

Yes I though the same when I saw it with the new diplomat mechanic. It didn't bother me before the DLC, it was like a super grievance (like it is when we talk about religion in the world .. ), but now it doesn't feel right.

Maybe we should have the same as other grievance, so if you deny it, you lost it (but still no timer for the end of the grievance)

Or with a reset every change of diplomatic status (war - peace - ally).
Or with a cooldown of 10 turns before submitting again the grievance.

It should simply have a cooldown for generating leverage every X turns only.

Oh no... That's strange as it should be fixed, could you share some save + diagnostic files?

I also think that grievances that can retrigger should remain in the interface and show a countdown.

Religious hostility definitely needs a cooldown as it can be abused to reach 100 war support in just a few turns.

I think 'State religion' and 'Oppressing my people' can also retrigger, and should remain in the interface (just to let you know when it will show up again)
