I got an sea unit during exploring an "anomaly" - it spawns in an inland sea - its totaly useless and I want to disband it, but its not possible...

Please consider such rare cases - just let it me delete, without any benefits

Thanks, MoWe42

I think they don't allow it because it would let you avoid War Score (I'll just delete my scout instead of retreating it, so they don't get the 5 War Score).  There should be a way to do it though...perhaps if it is outside your territory it takes 2-3 turns to actually disband (so it can be attacked+killed in the meantime)

Preventing disband until after combat is resolved and on retreating units should be done directly instead. If you haven't built up your income yet the per turn cost of an advanced unit can be unpleasant.

Why not just let you disband it and still make it count towards War Score? If your Empire is at war and you go disbanding units for whatever reason then you're still projecting less military power. It's reasonable IMO to count that unit as a loss even if it wasn't destroyed in combat. That seems like it would be easy to code and would still obviate "disband retreating scout" cheese.
