[Performance Bug] Very annoying Lag in Audio and Video

On my laptop (GeForce 1050 with most recent game drivers, Intel i7 8550U, Win 10 Pro, happens across the visual settings on FHD and 4K) there is a very annoying performance issue with the game. When the videos between the eras play, there is some lag in them every few milliseconds. So it's playing for a few milliseconds, then lags for a few milliseconds, then plays again. This makes it almost impossible to watch them. Later in the game this also happens with the audio of the background music.

Similar issues don't happen with other 4X games (Civ 6, Civ BE, Civ 5) on my machine, so I assume it's a programming issue.

Being a software engineer myself, I believe the audio issue should be resolvable by moving the music to another thread, making use of parallel CPU architecture so that the audio is not waiting for other computation or rendering to finish. I have no idea what could cause the video issue, but maybe it could be solved by pre-rendering those scenes into a format that can be displayed more smoothly and required less computation / rendering while playing.

Let me know if you need more information on my setup.

I too had this issue. It is really annoying, In Endless Space 2 and Victor Opendev O had this issue. I have a laptop, and in the beggning of the game the sega and Amplitude intro it lags, the era transition and ES2 race intro lags. The game gives me creeps. Maybe this is my device's fault.
