[PC/Gamepass] Game fails to launch

Description:

Game crashes when attempting to start every time.


Steps to Reproduce:

Every time I try to start the game by hitting "Play" from the XBox App, a window comes up to select my User and hit "Let's Play". Once I hit "Let's Play", the game will crash everytime back to the Xbox App launcher, sometimes briefly seeing a Unity window, shown in Attachments.

Additional Info:

I deleted existing files from my Human Kind Documents folder.

I also checked for updated Nvidia drivers and installed those.

I rebooted and tried again, multiple times.

A few of us have had this issue since yesterday, trying all the proposed solutions. I've looked here, Reddit and Twitter and can't find a way to fix it. It's commonly on Game Pass but it's happened on Epic too.


A dev responded to another forum post suggesting deleting previous files but many of us don't have them in the first place.

Since this, I've attempted a repair, reinstall, deleting the folder in the user directory again, etc. This is annoying, since this game is the only reason I even renewed my subscription to my Game Pass.


I think this may be the very first time I've ever had a new game just outright refuse to even launch. Makes me glad that I hesitated on a pre-order.
