If you clicked on the closed beta / opendev version of the game; it doesn't have a humankind.exe anymore after its latest update. I guess, because it's no longer avaliable. When I purchased the game, I got a second Humankind entry in my game library which wasn't the closed beta. That one does start for me, however it crashes after showing the first loading screen. So, yes, something fishy is going on. I'm currently updating my drivers, see if that makes a difference. AMD Radeon 580 8GB, AMD Ryzen 1700+, 16 GB RAM, Samsung 850 EVO SSD.

I never had access to the beta. It’s like my entire game is broken. Or that steam somehow thinks my PC is a Mac and won’t let me play it. Been trying now all day and I’ve never managed more than 20 seconds at a time? Might just call it quits and get a refund 

Hi, I am definitely picking the Humankind option - I don’t have any other versions. I have uninstalled epic and the issue still persists. 

Please could you verify the integrity of your Steam files ("properties" -> "local files" -> "verify integrity of game files")?

Could you provide us with the following files?

• Diagnostic files: Located by default: 
  • PC:\Users\[username]\Documents\Humankind\Temporary Files\
• Player.Log: Located in \Users\[username]\AppData\LocalLow\AMPLITUDE Studios\Humankind

hi, I validated game files - it said 2 files were missing. it downloaded them, but the same issue still occurred. I have checked those folders but they are completely empty? I have started the game a few times, and there is still nothing in there.

Please could you screenshot the content of steamapps\common\Humankind?

I feel really stupid now.. I had the game installed on my D drive, so I moved it to my C drive just to see if that made any difference, and the game is working fine now.. 

Don't see why that would have been an issue though as most of my Steam games are installed on the D drive
