This is the correct observation. All Scientist affinity cultures can research one technology above them.

Basically: If you only play as the babylonians for the entirety of the game, you'll theoritically be able to research Industrial Artillery within the early modern era, and you theoretically can research Fusion Reactors while in the Industrial Era.

Thank You very much for answer. I didn't know that they can research above they era (but as soon as You told me that. I checked it on wiki and You are 100% right). This explains everything. Sorry for bothering You, I feel silly now. But I am glad that You helped me!

On Humankind difficulity they got huge advantage, using a way stronger units than me because of huge bost on research. Unfortunatly at this difficulity level even when I advance to Ancient in first round there are only 3-4 Civilizations left to pick up :(. Total badluck that they are next to me and they atacked me so early with a huge advantage. I am afraid I need to start it once more time and hope to not get them close to me, at the begining they are unstopabble.

I am at 51 turn (fast speed) atm and I need to say that this level is true challenge, especialy when I have such a neibourgh at my borders ;).
