I played my first game on Metropolis. I received two difficulty achievements (Nation, Humankind) on winning my first game besides the one for Metropolis difficulty. Here are the screenshots of the achievements earned at the end of that game and a save from the turn after the win screens:
In a second game I'm playing now (on Nation), I just received the Culture Vulture achievement but I was not at war with anyone so far in this game. The cause looks to have been an AI player having conquered a territory with the Temple of Artemis. Attached is the save for the turn after that that territory was conquered by the AI:
