[KI] Bombard units in a battle cannot attack units in destroyed fortifications

When battling with units in fortifications, bombard units and certain other ranged units cannot attack units once the fortifications are destroyed. A message comes up saying target already destroyed. In some circumstances this is OK, but can be devastating when trying to complete an amphibious assault, as my battleships (and ironclads) couldnt kill units on the beachhead so none of my units could land.

This was also quiet annoying on a battle with a narrow (1tile) battle width and most of my artillary couldn't fire as enemy units were standing on destroyed fortifications.  Please can this be fixed

Thank you

Hello!

In order for us to fully investigate this issue we need the following:

- Your last two auto-saves, and any other saves you think may help show the problem. Your saves are by default located:

o PC: \Users\[username]\Documents\Humankind\Save Files

o Mac: This is hidden in the Libraries folder. You will need to do an internet search to find specific steps for your OS. Once the libraries folder is revealed, they are in /library/ application support/humankind/Save Files

- A screenshot. To get a screenshot:

o PC:

§ Steam: Default hotkey for a screenshot is F12

§ EGS: Use the windows print screen button, or press start and type in snipping tool/Snip and Sketch and create a new snip of the area you want to make a screenshot of.

o Mac: Steam default hotkey for a screenshot is F12, but if that does not work press and hold these three keys together: Shift, Command, and 3. o Stadia: https://support.google.com/stadia/answer/9582306?hl=en (There are many options)

Thank you for taking the time to send us this report.

Hi

it was disappointing to see this bug still in the game after the last big update. is this being looked into?

I find it kind of weird that this bug did not get fixed. I know I've heard folks in other places talking about HK have also encountered this bug often enough before the patch.

Anyway, please see the following pictures:

1. Here is a reading of a Ballista that is able to hit a Ta-Seti Archer in a fortification. Coincidentally, the Ballista completely destroys the fortification at the same time, and also inflicts some damage on the Ta-Seti Archer.

2. Here is another Ballista trying to attack the same Ta-Seti Archer, after the earlier Ballista has committed its attack. Note that it is unable to attack the Ta-Seti Archer due to a "Target is already destroyed" message.

3. To demonstrate that the Ta-Seti Archer is still present, here is a reading of an Archer being able to attack the Ta-Seti Archer.

Ballistae are not the only siege units to demonstrate this inability to attack enemy units on destroyed fortifications, in my experience. The following are also unable to attack enemy units on destroyed fortifications:

- Battering Rams (this might be on purpose?)

- Trebuchets

- Mortars

- Siege Artillery

- Helicopter Gunships

I've also attached a copy of the save file to this post. It was in a session that was played today on 2022-06-26 at around 10:32 AM Pacific Time, and started the night before at around 11 PM Pacific Time, so it should definitely be using the most recent version of Humankind. The battle where those above pictures are taken can be found in the only visible orange city on the map.

EDIT: Also want to add that this session is not using any custom mods, only mods (free or paid) provided by Amplitude.

Ey, some good news! It looks like (at least for Ballistae) this bug is fixed in the Ibn Battuta beta!

I'll have to try with Trebs and Mortars and Helis eventually, but this looks promising.

That was mentioned among the listed fixes, I do wonder if that also includes Shatter units and ships, because the fixes list does mention only Bombard.

Can at least confirm that Helis are also fixed in this beta:

I think I'm just going to build Helis forever :V they're so much fun, and so much more usable fighters/bombers.

On a separate note (perhaps this should be in another thread), but it looks like Helis can't fly over walls? At the least, I have to blow open an opening in a wall before I can explicitly move Helis into an unoccupied tile behind a wall. I'm not sure if that's a bug, or if that's intended, since Helis are sort of weird land units.
