[PC/Steam, v1.0.12.2591-S10] Graphics freezes seconds after game starts

Bug description


Until I changed my computer I cannot launch the game anymore. 

It freezes like 2/3 seconds after startup in the menu. Then I get the Windows alert "stopped working". 

With the option -force-vulkan I do not have the Windows alert anymore but the screen freezes as well and I can still move and click as I can hear but nothing moves on the screen.

I tried to launch everything (steam + humankind) in admin mode but it doesn't really look to change anything.

I also deleted the Humankind folder in my Documents folder and at startup, I got a new one. I think the game gets some parameters and saves from my last computer via cloud save.

I tried to rush into the settings menu before it crashes and I saw it used the settings of my old computer (medium graphics, ips locked to 60 max).

My drivers are all up to date. 

My computer should obviously run easily the game even under the better settings.

I saw that I'm not the only one that has this trouble. I hope I gave you more information to help fix the bug.
Don't hesitate to ask for more information.

I hope you can help me fix this bug because it is now unplayable for me.

Hello, nothing new about this issue? 

I still can't play and the last patch didn't help with this. 
I also updated my windows version from 10 to 11, updated my bios version to the last available, and double-checked my drivers.

I think I can't do anything more on my side. I can still provide other diagnostics exports if needed.

Sorry about this problem, I understand the frustration.

As you made some changes, could you share again the conf with this new updates?

Unfortunately, we couldn´t reproduce it, at least for the moment. So we do not have a good lead, and I can not give you an estimated time to be solved.

Hi and sorry for the very delayed reply. 

We have found out that we have this issue with some graphics card. A workaround is to limit your FPS. In theory, any limit should do the job.
