Hi,

My game won't launch on the launch loading screen. It began after I tried to install some mods in the game. After the loading I could not click on anything so I had to close the game by closing the window. After that, when I tried to launch the game, the loading bar would completely load and then nothing. Music starts but I am on the loading bar which is completely loaded, and nothing. I left it on for 10 min and nothing. So since then I just closed the game by closing the window.

I tried to uninstall and install the game. Didn't work.

I tried to delete all files and launch the game. Didn't work.

I tried reinstalling directX and Visual+. Didn't work.

I tried launching the game as administrator. Didn't work

I tried going to an ancient version of the game then going back to the actual version. Didn't work

I am freeking desperate right now and there are no treads that helped me.

I do not know what to do and now I am doubting downloading mods for other games.

Please help me.

I have the same issue.  Something is wrong with the latest patch.

After deleting a mod I was using and then starting another game without that mod, the game hung up when I tried to start a new game. The game initialized, made the map and then went to start the first turn and it hung up. I had to completely close out the game. When I restart now, it won't get past the loading screen. The bar goes across the bottom and the music plays, but it never starts the game. I have done a full file verification and reinstall of Humankind. I put Force Vulkan on, but no change. I ran as administrator, no change but Steam runs in compatibility mode when I try to run as admin).

OS: Win 11 64
CPU: Intel i9 12900k
Graphics: RTX 3090

Having this issue as well. Saw there was an update so I wanted to see if the Naval Mod was back working again which it was. Then when I loaded it up my screen wouldn’t let me click on anything so I closed the game. Relaunched it and now my game won’t get passed the load in screen. Bar fills across the bottom, music starts, and nothing. Ctl-alt-delete to the task manager and there is a crash indicator on the humankind that doesn’t even appear on screen. Im forced to close the game from the task manager or windows tab. It sucks that my game is completely unplayable after waiting to play with these mods again.

Having the same issue. Saw that the game had some new updates since I last played so I opened it up, unsubscribed from all my mods, then resubscribed to them. When I activated them and pressed "Apply", the screen loaded back to the main menu but now none of the buttons were clickable (and the tooltips indicated that the game seemed to think we were still in the modding menu, mentioning the tabs for selecting mods, dealing with custom maps, and returning to the main menu).

I thus manually-exited the game using my task manager, started it again, and the loading bar filled up quickly but the game hasn't started for 5+ minutes now and the music has stopped playing. I'll have to manually-exit using the task manager now as well.

Yup this is exactly what I am experiencing too.

Unsubscribed from all my mods, then resubscribed to them. When I activated them and pressed "Apply", the screen loaded back to the main menu, but then none of the buttons were clickable.

I  did ctrl + F4 and tried to open the game, but the loading bar filled up quickly and then freezes at 90%.

I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, deleting files, updating directX, updating C++, restarting computer. All drivers are up-to-date.

Now there is no way for me to play.

Hello!

In order for us to fully investigate this issue we need the following:

- A list of mods used when this issue occured the first time.

- Your diagnostics logs. These are time stamped, and any time you close and relaunch the game, new ones are started. Please grab all diagnostics logs related to the session you were playing where the issue occurred and send them in a .zip or .rar folder. These are by default located:

o PC: \Users\[username]\Documents\Humankind\Temporary Files

o Mac: This is hidden in the Libraries folder. You will need to do an internet search to find specific steps for your OS. Once the libraries folder is revealed, they are in user/library/ application support/humankind/Temporary Files

- An output log. These can be found here:

o PC: This folder is hidden by default. You will need to reveal hidden folders (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/show-hidden-files-0320fe58-0117-fd59-6851-9b7f9840fdb2 ) then navigate to: Users\[username]\AppData\LocalLow\AMPLITUDE Studios\Humankind

o Mac: This is hidden in the Libraries folder. You will need to do an internet search to find specific steps for your OS. Once the libraries folder is revealed, they are in user/library/logs/amplitude studios/humankind

Thank you for taking the time to send us this report.

The mods you are trying to use are out of date. I am unsure if that behavior was intended by the devs, but for you to be able to play again delete the Community folder in %userprofile%/documents/humankind/

This will delete all downloaded mods and the game will load up fine without mods. Make sure to check if the mod has been updated for bolivar hotfix 1 at least. There is currently no way to load those incompatible mods.

Thank you! This fixed the issue for me.
