I'm not sure if this is a bug or just confusing documentation. The post about the new mechanics for independent says "Perhaps the most notable of the new treaties is the ability to turn an Independent People into a Client State, allowing you to continue to benefit from the other treaties while preventing other empires from taking over your patronage." But I just created my first client state and stopped bribing them. A couple turns later, I got a notification that my treaty had been cancelled. Is this intended behavior?

Hello there! thanks for the feedbacks :
- @gcmn When an independent People is turned into a client state, other people can still try to reverse it by investing in patronage as well. As soon as you don't have anymore the favour of your client state, it will turn to others. So sometimes it's good to have a look. And to be fully transparent, we are adding a notification when it's about to happen for the upcoming patch (like very soon)
- also your vassal is of course able to compete for patronage. Being a vassal doesn't mean that he will only go the way you want. The best exemple in history we had in mind was the 100 years war, where England was in fact supposed to be the vassal of France
Hmmm ok. A notification before it happens would be very nice. I also originally thought I lost all the influence I had invested in the treaty, so was much more annoyed. I do think the text in the [announcement](https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1124300/view/3546047018704237817) is pretty misleading though. I'm not sure how else to interpret "preventing other empires from taking over your patronage". Was that perhaps an earlier plan for how the client state would work?

I see! good remark! I'll see with the writers how we can maybe be more specific.
