I am unable to bribe, praise, or select a treaty with an Independent People. When I hover over any of these options, there is an orange tooltip stating:
Yep I'm getting this too. This happened after my unit walked to an unexplored tile and started a fight with these guys.
This IP is in decline (6,8 turns left before it disappears), which prevents you from praising/bribing them.
If you hover your mouse over the remaining turns, you'd get a tooltip, but I guess you'll get the failure flag debug text "not valid state" -- that is, in decline.
By the way guys, on standard speed, IPs will start declining when they reach 10 turns left of their lifespan.
If you want to keep them alive, and if you can afford it, use the client state treaty (before they start their last 10th turn of lifespan), and make sure to hold the 60% share threshold as long as you want them alive.
Anyone else getting a glitch where the independent peoples lifespan remains on 1 and never goes to 0? Thanks in advance :)
Am running into something similar, but the independent peoples in question are generally stuck on 9 turns remaining and never decline. Guessing the originally reported bug is missing text for that flag or something similar, though the additional wrinkle is a bit inconveinent
