Hi,

I just bought Humankind. My problem is very well known and I thought it would have been adressed since the release but it seems the oppposite.

When I open Humankind, the game asks me which tutorial I want. I choose the easiest mode (never played before) and go on. Pick a random color and emblem. Everything is fine until there, no FPS loss or anything. I click "play" and then a loading screen pops up. Just after the loading bar crossed 50/55%, the game crashes.

A few times I was told it was due to Unity, but it's been a while since this message did not show up. I have also seen "an exception has been raised" in game message and "Exception Stop point" system message. I have tried the solutions presented in "known issues" both on this forum and the SEGA support, as well as ones from independent websites. Every pilot is up to date, including DotNet, VCredist and DirectX, I tried to open as Administrator, I tried to force Vulcan, etc. I also set exception for Humankind.exe in my firewall (avast).

The problem remains. Please, I just want to see what the gameplay looks like.

Config : AMD Ryzen 5 3500U with Radeon Vega Mobile referred to as Radeon Vega 8 by AMD Adrenalin Software. 8GB RAM.

Logs : Player.log

Saves : I should have none, and the file does not load.

Thank you for any help provided.

Hi, thank you for your report.

We are very sorry that you are experiencing this issue. In order for us to better investigate it can you provide us the following files are well please?

Thanks a lot in advance and sorry again!

  • Diagnostic files: These files need to be compressed as a zip or rar file or the upload will fail! Located by default:
    • PC:\Users\[username]\Documents\Humankind\Temporary Files
    • Mac: Select the correct file by looking at the name like "Diagnostics - 2020'10'11 @1407'46''" that gives you the date and hour which should correspond to a save file
  • Information about the system you are playing on. To get this information:
    • PC: From the Windows desktop, press the Windows and R keys to open the Run window. In the Open: field of the Run window, type dxdiag. Click OK or the Enter key to open the DirectX* Diagnostic Tool. See also here: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000022556/graphics.html
    • Mac: See information on where to get system info here: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT203001

Hi again,

unfortunately, your graphics card is quite a bit below the minimum requirement. I am afraid there is nothing we can do :( .

Sorry about that.
