I play with a friend in steam and he has the 1.18 version en on the xbox app we only have the 1.17 version. Whyyyy?

I'm having the same issue with me on steam and a buddy on game pass. Does anyone know how long it usually takes to have all platforms on the same version number?

Hi all. Apologies for the inconvenience.
Microsoft has a slightly more rigid process than other platforms (the game has to pass through certification, which takes a couple of days). Usually we anticipate that to have all platforms updated at the same time. This time, certification took a bit more time than expected; but because of critical issues this update fixes, we wanted to have other platforms updated as soon as possible. 

We're pushing hard to have the game updated on MS Store before the week-end. Thanks for your patience!
