It gets weirder. Just randomly proposed a diplomatic alliance. The AI persona refused. But the voice line ... 

Stacking up that many grievances seems, careless. Maybe just change the name in a future patch. "Mistakes are sometimes opportunities."

Maybe it's just bugged. Maybe it's all bugs. All the way down.

Here are some explanations for your situation:

- By "They favor a defensive playstyle", we mean that they'll tend to create more armies and prioritize defending their cities, not that they will never attack you.

- They feel "Condescending" toward you. It means they consider themselves as vastly more powerful than you and are not afraid by your forces at all, hence the attacks and the grievances.

- They may trigger an attack if they think they can cause enough casualties on your side, even if that means loosing (it may be worth taking out a few units for the Era Stars for example)

I'm not entirely sure about the voice line, that may be a bug on our side.

Yea I won both battles and prevented any unit loss. Didn't more than one of their units though. Their opinion didn't seem to change. *shrugs* It seemed like the result of their actions was lots of 'free' war support. Thanks.
