Allow to manually replay »Instant Resolution« in fights

As you all know, while engaging in a fight, players are met with three options. I'd like to discuss the third:

Instant resolution is a great feature of the game and has one main benefice: it spares time in one sided battles, which is precious particularly in MP games.

However, it can happen that expectations of the fight are not fulfilled. Three tribes, slightly injured, meet a mammoth and are sure they'll win the fight? Yet they lose one tribe in the process while you knew you'd have won without the loss by entering the manual fight.
It can push players to load in solo games or become a bit grumpy in MP, as they thought to spare the patience of others to finally pay it.

The idea is, once the players sees the result, to give them the option to try to best it by entering the fight manually if they deem themselves capable to do so. This of course should not be limited to fights against Gaia and apply to fight against IPs, Rebels or AI players.

I'd be in favour for the player to be allowed to decide to break the fight and to keep the Instant Resolution result if the manual fight did not go as well as hoped.

For MP games, this should be, of course desactivated in fights occuring between human players.

Thank you for reading and for your potential upvote.
Have a nice day/night!

So in Total War, the instant resolution shows which of your units will be killed before you hit instant resolve.

I would suggest implementing this directly as per Total war - in the screenshot below, every attacking unit except the lord will be killed if you hit auto-resolve. It doesn't show how badly damaged units will get, only which ones are wiped out.

Greenlit

The GREENLIT status is given by the dev team to ideas they will really likely implement in the near future. Almost there!

Hola!

We agree that this needed an improvement, as it could be a bit frustrating to players.
Some of you mentioned Total War, and it will be similar, you will get a preview of the final result so you can decide if you like it or you prefer to get your hands on the matter.

The good thing is that the team is working on it and should be on the next update.

Have a nice day ^-^

I like the way Daarkarrow has described the planned implementation.

While I understand the OPs request for in-game battle Replay, this is a slippery slope.

Taken too far, it eliminates ALL risk from battle.

Risk is the spice, the caliente, to battle and conflict.  It's the soil for excitement, uncertainty, and exhilaration.

Remove risk, and you neuter the game.

I very much like the option of getting a more detailed preview of what instant resolution would look like.

Side Benefit:  There is a known exploit where using Auto-Resolve when you have certain units guarantees you victory.  This may help the dev team quickly spot those exploits/bugs, and resolve them.
