Ive wanted to get a freind into 4X. Something I noticed however in multiplayer it can take quite some time for you to have some interactivity. Being able to start with map info/aliance with each other I think would be a great option for multiplayer.  Perticuarly If it was possible to set spawns on a map or set up the game such that you would spawn within a certain distance of each other.
