The need to acknowledge incessant notifications of, well, everything is like being beset by a swarm of flies at a picnic; it's impossible to enjoy the feast when you spent more time swatting flies than eating.  It's nice to have a play to go to view notifications that remain relevant, but checking that information should be an opportunity not an obligation.
