I want units to move faster in combat and movement animations. Huge battles take very long time. Battles against nomads ridding back and forward one after another is exhausting to endure, especially in a multiplayer.

Thanks!

Hey there!

Thanks for your feedbacks, that's always helpfull for us

In fact we already have an option in the game settings to increase the speed by x3. Maybe you were asking for something different or more impactfull?

Have a nice day

Yes a  lot in MP communities  changes directly in the game files so the animation speed  is 20  ,  combat are often really long and having faster animation is really a must

@Benblond

increase the speed by x3

What he (probably) means is that this is still much, much too slow, especially for bigger battles fought in multiplayer.

I almost exclusively play multiplayer with a friend against the AI and when either of us is at war while the other one is at peace, the person at peace has to stare at their empire not doing anything for 5-20 minutes. This is especially brutal in the earlier ages, where you don't have much else to do and even worse if your game doesn't go so well and you just want to "skip" a few turns until it gets better again.

In Civilization, you can just turn off movement and fighting animations.

While I understand that disabling movement animations on the normal map probably isn't something you want because it should be possible to intercept armies to start a battle, I don't see why I couldn't speed up or even skip all animations, movement and fighting, while on a battlefield, as it's turn based anyway.

In conclusion:

  • It should be possible to speed up fighting and movement animations by a much bigger factor, if not skip them altogether, while in a (turn based) battle.
  • On the normal map the movement animation speed should still be limited, as interception should still be possible.
