Reward links (mostly) don't work

To give some idea of where I'm coming from, I'm one of the many people for whom the Endless Legend artbook never worked in Steam. It just won't download no matter what, I've tried literally all the troubleshooting steps given in the Steam thread about it, nothing worked. Something that could have been solved by providing a simple hyperlink became a multiple-day exercise in frustration before I gave up and mostly forgot about it. That was a few months ago.

Today, due to curiosity about an unrelated weird e-mail I got from Amplitude, I logged into this site for the first time in months and was pleased to see that the artbook, among other things, is now a free reward available to me on this site, but only cautiously so given my earlier experience. I tried getting the artbook... and it worked on the first try! Yay!

Spurred on by this somewhat unexpected success I also tried to download the Endless Legend wallpaper pack... and nothing happened. It just says "... LOADING" forever and never actually gives me the actual download. Same with the ES2 one, and worse, now that it seems to THINK I've downloaded the EL wallpapers, I can't even find the link to try again.

I am... annoyed.

I don't understand what's so difficult about delivering this content. All it requires is a simple hyperlink. This is a solved problem, and has been since like 1993, probably before some of your devs were born! It's a 41 MB file which by today's standards isn't very large. There's no reason for this to be technically complex or for me to have to jump through hoops to accomplish it. Please, just provide a straightforward way to get this content!

I clicked "all" followed by the "pack" option, thus the reference to a 41 MB file. (That's for the ES2 ones. The link for Endless Legend seemed to vanish for a while but now I can see it again, so that part is solved or maybe was a user issue in the first place. I did much the same thing with that one.) It's STILL just going "... LOADING".

ETA: Any chance it's a browser thing? I'm using Brave.

I tried it on Brave and it still work, do you have any plugin installed that might block it ? Can you try on another browser just to be sure ?

Same thing happens on both Firefox and Vivaldi. At the moment my only Brave plugin is one for highlighting new comments on Reddit (lots of plugins on the other two including ad blockers and other privacy stuff that could explain the issue, but nothing on Brave that isn't built into the browser itself).

Any suggestions?

And I must ask again, what's wrong with a simple hyperlink? Why the felt need to deliver this through some fancy Web 2.0 BS that is, by its nature, inevitably not going to even work for some percentage of your customers?

Hi.

Your issue is very strange, as we are not able to reproduce it with the exact same browser you use. Can you try to download only 1 wallpaper and not the pack? Do you happen to have any information in the javascript console of your browser or anywhere?

Also for why we don't provide blue links: those packages are a reward for people engaging with the community, therefore they must have an account in order to download the rewards.

We also track what is downloaded the most to propose in the future more content that seems to interest the community, so it is a win/win scenario.

Thanks.
