I've forgotten my login email for another account as well as the password and so I cannot log in to unlink my steam account to sync it up to my new one.

I have the same problem. I tried to login after couple of years since last time but I couldn't. When I put my email, it said there wasn't any account with that email (meaning I couldn't send a new password either)
So I had to create a new account.
I just linked Epic Games account but when I tried to link Steam and clicked Accept on Steam prompt page, nothing happens and the account is not linked.
I'm sure I linked Steam with the previous account since I already have the goodies unlocked for the games on Steam.
