Having this error myself right now (same c__Iterator94). Also using a 64bit system and forcing admin on it wont fix this.

/Deleting "My documents/Endless Legend" directory wont help either.

Howdy Shemone, thanks for the attempt. I made the change as suggested but still get the same error message. I'm still holding off on trying the Beta 32bit branch incase I can provide other testing for the devs.

Hey Try this,

1) Open 'Steam'

2) Right Click 'Endless Legends'

3) Choose 'Properties'

4) Go to 'Local Files'

5) Choose 'Browse to Local Files'

6) Right Click 'EndlessLegend.exe'

7) Go to 'Properties'

8) Go to 'Compatibility' Tab.

9) Tick 'Run this Game As An Administrator'

10) Launch Game through steam.

Hi Vahla,

We will try to look into it, but this seems very strange. You reinstalled the game, but have you tried deleting the content of the "My documents/Endless Legend" directory? This is where we store the save files, and also temporary world generation data. Maybe there is a glitch preventing the world generator to run, because the outfile file is readonly / locked?

Cheers,

Yep, I did re-try manually deleting both the My Documents location and the SteamApps folder locations and received the same error. I can try kshh's work around below but if there is anything else you want me to try in the mean time I am available to help with troubleshooting. Thanks for your time!

Hey guys,

had the same exact problem and meant to register to add my log files, but instead I found a workaround that works for me so I figured I'd register to post that instead..

In steam, right click on Endless Legend, then properties. Go to "betas" and opt-in to the 32bit "beta". This will change your EL client to the 32 bit version, which for some reason works beautifully for me and is able to generate a map.

Let me know if this works for you guys too.

Similar problem, at least chronologically. I just can't get the update for 0.6.1 to start, hardly. If I click 'play' or choose 'update' from the menu, it starts a download, estimating the time to be ~15 seconds, then the estimate jumps to 12 days or more. In less than 10 seconds it stops and reports "corrupted download."

I have verified game files, rebooted Windows, and turned off my firewall and anti-malware. Same dif.

Wyterecluse this is another problem, I had it happened to me on another game, but it would be better to discuss it in another thread.

Basically it is a problem with steam that occur when you have connection issues while updating, it is really hard to recover from, for me it went up to corrupt my whole steam install, but it was not linked to the game itself. Feel free to start a new thread about that specific issue.

Yep, thanks for trying. Just re-did the tests after manually deleting all the folders and then re-downloading. Verifying the files just says all files checked out. Wasn't opted into any beta branches, so no changes there.

Still can't start map/session. smiley: sad

Have you tried to verify the integrity of the game cache? right click on EL in your steam library, hit properties and its under local files, I'm not sure if this will help but it's worth a shot. Also when you deleted local files, did you physically delete the EL folder in your steam-apps/common section AND in the documents section? If verifying game cache doesn't work you can uninstall the game, delete the folders then re-install to get a 100% clean install. As I said, not sure if this will work but it's worth a shot.

* Also make sure you aren't opted in for any branch builds and are actually on the stable build, not doubting you aren't because you obviously put the version in your title, but just trying to cover all the bases.
