LOL I don't recall making an account for these forums but Firefox remembered. smiley: smile

Please don't click the dropbox links unless you are the games staff. It's the freebie dropbox and link will get locked if too many click it.

In one of the dropbox folders I added extra files per the Steam pinned post on bugs & crashes.

My problem was fixed when I changed GPU. upgraded to R9280X. haven't had a crash since upgrade. will keep posted.

I have an 280x. I am using the latest drivers (not beta as far as I know):

14.12 AMD Catalyst Omega Software

I would get crashes, but they were very random. When they happened, they would usually happen soon after I booted up. If I made it past 15-30 mins, it would run fine.

I've switched to 32-bit and everything works fine save one time when it would error out when attempting to create the map. Not a crash, it would just not work (and pop an error).

I managed to get a game started, but there was no sound. I saved, restarted the game, loaded and everything was fine.

I would be willing to switch to the 64-bit version and try to generate some crash reports if it would be useful for you to have more.

I believe the reason for your lack of crashes would be that the R9 cards all use the new Omega framework, and not Catalyst. I haven't yet attempted it, but I was going to run tests playing the game with Catalyst non-present, and only the cards drivers installed with nothing additional. This should confirm the source is indeed Catalyst.

Just a top of the line PC with an AMD FX-8320 8 Core @ 4.0 GHz, 16 GB 1600 DDR3 RAM, 2 SSD in a RAID 0 array, an ASUS AMD Radeon R9 270 with 2GB RAM...:P

Outrageous! So am I! Outraged! a wonderful upgrade, the rest can continue playing, and we have problems in using an ATI we still can play.

Do I going to pay it back? they do not? Then solve the problem please ...

I think it is fixed. There were a couple of updates recently, and now I have played many hours with my same large game and never a CTD!

Kudos for fixing this Amplitude.

EDIT 2/4/15: Unfortunately I am now finding the game a bit boring though. It's not the difficulty, but the sparsity of excitement. Too bad, because this is a beautiful game, with plenty of potential. Game develops too slowly as well.

Really? I did not see those updates... I hope they updated the Mac version!

Nope. Wasn't mentioned. I was just reporting my experience. No need to apologize.

Now I have quit playing the game. Only time will tell if I ever start playing it again.

Hi all,

We have not forgotten you about this issue. Unity has released a new version of Unity (4.6.2) with some fix which could concern the crash issue. We have generated a new build and I played for 65 turns without crash on a PC outfitted with an AMD graphic cards, in 64 bits, with the latest graphics drivers. Sounds promising, but obviously we need our QA to double check it. Lets hope I was not just lucky.

Cheers,

Thanks so much for the update, Mathieu. I'm still enjoying, and playing almost daily, the 32 bit version.

Subject says it. Check the new release notes, 1.0.44. "Fixed an issue where a random CTD occurs for players using an ATI/AMD graphic card and using the 64-bit version of the game."

Thanks, Amplitude.

Have this set to 'fastest' video settings to avoid special effects with ATI and 32 bit Win7 AMD system. Crashes happen less frequently now. Nevertheless, still get CTD, and I can consistently reproduce the error dialog (below) in the Deployment battle screen by clicking on the positioning icon:

KeyNotFoundException: The given key was not present in the dictionary.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

System.Collections.Generic.Dictionary`2[System.UInt64,IGameEntity].get_Item (UInt64 key)

GameEntityRepository.get_Item (GameEntityGUID guid)

Deployment.Forward ()

GameServer.ChangeDeploymentPreprocessor (.OrderChangeDeployment order)

System.Reflection.MonoMethod.Invoke (System.Object obj, BindingFlags invokeAttr, System.Reflection.Binder binder, System.Object[] parameters, System.Globalization.CultureInfo culture)

Rethrow as TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.

System.Reflection.MonoMethod.Invoke (System.Object obj, BindingFlags invokeAttr, System.Reflection.Binder binder, System.Object[] parameters, System.Globalization.CultureInfo culture)

System.Reflection.MethodBase.Invoke (System.Object obj, System.Object[] parameters)

Amplitude.Unity.Game.Orders.OrderProcessorInfo.Preprocess (Amplitude.Unity.Game.Orders.Order order)

GameServer.ProcessOrders ()

GameInterface.UpdateMessageBoxAndProcessOrders ()

GameInterface.Update ()

GameServer.Update ()

Session.Update ()

Amplitude.Unity.Session.SessionManager.LateUpdate ()

I don't think your issue is related to the ATI issue in this thread. In fact, I believe your issue is addressed in the latest hotfix 1.0.45: "Fixed an issue where an error (KeyNotFoundException) appears when some tiles cannot be targeted in the battle."

I've played a 200+ turn game now with no ATI/Unity crash since the 1.0.44 release.

Hope this helps.
