I have had this problem ever since I purchased and installed the game on 9/20. I have tried all the workarounds. This has been very frustrating to me as we don't seem to be getting any updates on this thread. I really just want my money back at this point so I can choose to purchase the product in the future once it starts working.

Hello, I just recently bought this game and have been having the same problem as jimmyh. I am on windows 7 and have tried the your workaround with no change. Being that this problem completely prevents me from playing the game or even the tutorial it has been extremely frustrating to deal with and I would greatly appreciate a fix asap.

In addition, here is the error log I get when I try to start a new game, there is none when I try to start the tutorial (It just returns me to the main menu on the world generation step):

WorldGeneratorProcessException: The world generation process has encountered an error: [WorldGenerator][Exception] The world generator has encountered an exception: [InnerException] System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Core, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' or one of its dependencies. Hi Mathieu GIRARD

simply would really appreciate a regular update from the Dev team even if its still 'sorry we haven't manged to fix it'

the lack of communication is just frustrating especially as you started the thread yourself.

Simply 'no change' post would be good enough

Hi there,

This is a tough break as we never reproduce this problem here, nor does our QA. It gives us a really hard time understanding what is going on. The error message is always the same so it does not tell us much.

Have you tested all the possible workarounds : Win 7 compatibility, Administrator mode, 32 bits, AV off?

Cheers,

Also for the last version, we have added more traces to determine the cause of the issue.

For those who still experience the issue, pls attach your output log and diagnostics file.

Thanks

I did try zipping both diagnostics file, but even then the upload software did not show the file. Then again, it is also very possible that I am just messing something up :/

I will try again when I get a chance.

I have been trying all of the workarounds for days now. The 1.0.2 patch didn't fix the problem for me. I would be happy to provide diagnostics and output files but I would need instructions how to do so

I have two diagnostics files in the endless legends folder, one is a css file and the other is a jscript file. not sure which one you want(or if you want both) but i was able to open the css file in notepad and copy the text but couldn't save as a txt file to upload (it would always save as a css) but here is the text from it.

------------------------------------------

pre {

display:none;

}

a {

background-color:#ffffff;

border-radius:4px;

color:#cccccc;

cursor: hand;

font-size:small;

font-weight:normal;

margin-right: 16px;

padding:3px;

text-decoration: none;

width:10em;

}

h1 {

padding-top: 3em;

}

body {

font-family:"calibri";

margin-top: 0;

padding-top: 0;

}

p {

border-radius:5px;

display:block;

font-family:"calibri";

margin:2px;

padding:4px;

}

.assert {

background-color:#ffeecc;

color:#e48625;

font-weight:bold;

}

.button {

border:none;

border-radius: 5px;

cursor: hand;

display:inline;

margin:2px;

padding:4px;

width:10em;

}

.error {

background-color:#ff2a2a;

color:#ffffff;

font-weight:bold;

}

.header {

background:#ffffff;

position:fixed;

width:100pc;

}

.message {

background-color:#eeeeee;

font-weight:bold;

}

.padding {

height:20em;

}

.time {

background-color:transparent;

float: left;

width:8em;

}

.warning {

background-color:#e48625;

color:#ffffff;

font-weight:bold;

}

-----------------------------

hope it helps.

EDIT: Also got a new error today after updating to 1.0.2 the text is attached. Note that the old error didn't go away it was also there. the new one was on a red pop-up overlapped on top of the old one.

EDIT: found 4 html diagnostics files under \Documents\Endless Legend\Temporary Files but I can't attach them either, even zipped.

I just bought the game on Steam but experienced the same crash issue at world generation. I've sent an email attached with 2 diagnostics files (css and js formats) and 1 output log file to contact@amplitude-studios.com. Nonetheless, I'd like to provide some information about the crash in this thread as well.

First, the error message in the red pop-up window is as follows:

NotImplementedException: The game creation process has failed.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

GameClientState_LaunchGame.GameService_CreateGameComplete (System.Object sender, Amplitude.Unity.Game.CreateGameCompleteEventArgs e)

Amplitude.Unity.Game.GameManager.OnCreateGameComplete (Amplitude.Unity.Game.CreateGameCompleteEventArgs e)

Amplitude.Unity.Game.GameManager.CreateGameAsync_CoroutineExceptionHandler (System.Object sender, Amplitude.CoroutineExceptionEventArgs args)

Amplitude.Coroutine+c__Iterator94.MoveNext ()

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

V1.0.2 S3 (64-bit)

In addition, the content from a diagnostics file (css) in the Endless Legend folder is as follows:

pre {

display:none;

}

a {

background-color:#ffffff;

border-radius:4px;

color:#cccccc;

cursor: hand;

font-size:small;

font-weight:normal;

margin-right: 16px;

padding:3px;

text-decoration: none;

width:10em;

}

h1 {

padding-top: 3em;

}

body {

font-family:"calibri";

margin-top: 0;

padding-top: 0;

}

p {

border-radius:5px;

display:block;

font-family:"calibri";

margin:2px;

padding:4px;

}

.assert {

background-color:#ffeecc;

color:#e48625;

font-weight:bold;

}

.button {

border:none;

border-radius: 5px;

cursor: hand;

display:inline;

margin:2px;

padding:4px;

width:10em;

}

.error {

background-color:#ff2a2a;

color:#ffffff;

font-weight:bold;

}

.header {

background:#ffffff;

position:fixed;

width:100pc;

}

.message {

background-color:#eeeeee;

font-weight:bold;

}

.padding {

height:20em;

}

.time {

background-color:transparent;

float: left;

width:8em;

}

.warning {

background-color:#e48625;

color:#ffffff;

font-weight:bold;

}

Lastly, I attach herewith an output log file and a screenshot of the crash message for your reference. Please let me know if you need additional information to help resolve this annoying issue.

I don't get any error messages, doesn't matter what I try to do whether it's trying to run the tutorial or starting a new game.. it goes to a new screen with a progress bar, says it's start world generation.. minimizes the game.. I open it back up , it sits there for a bit then goes back to the main menu.

This is becoming very very annoying.. If I try the 64 bit version it just doesn't work at all. the 32 bit one starts but I can't play it..

The most damning thing for me is, it did work.. I played it for about 40 minutes and decided to wait until it was released to really have a go at playing it.. now it does this stuff..

I encourage players who have experienced this crash issue to submit the diagnostics and the output log files to the technical staff either through this thread or via the email contact@amplitude-studios.com .

The diagnostics files (css and javascript formats) can be found in: Program Files(x86)/Steam/SteamApps/Common/EndlessLegend

The diagnostics files (html format) can be found in: [Documentsdir]/Endless Legend/Temporary Files/Diagnostics*.html

The output_log file (txt format) can be found in: Program Files(x86)/Steam/SteamApps/Common/EndlessLegend/EndlessLegend_Data

I think the technical staff can resolve this crash issue more effectively with better crash / error information provided by us. I've sent these files to the above-mentioned email already, and I really hope they fix this problem ASAP because the game is completely unplayable for now.
