Hey SpaceTroll, while we've got you here, how'd first day sales go for you guys? A huge jump or comparative to when the game went live on EA? smiley: smile

In other words, it's doing considerably better than Endless Space at release. However, Legend hasn't matched overall peak numbers yet, though. Did Endless Space go on sale in November of 2012?

November 2012 was the steam free weekend. And sale, of course smiley: approval

In the Ask us Anything, they said the sales of EL so far are "average". Not a disaster but not as high as the expected. Lack of media coverage, competetive season and Steam promotions cited as reasons...

Mind Decline -> https://minddecline.wordpress.com/2014/09/22/review-endless-legend-pc/ (no score, positive opinion)

The issues are ultimately small and don’t address the broader issue that 4x games face today. As much fun as Endless Legend is, it still feels like a contemporary of the 4x masterpieces from long ago. It’s becoming clear that developers will need substantially new ideas to push the genre forward and prevent it from stunting….eventually. For now, Endless Legend is a polished and fun experience. Go play.

It's very difficult to compensate these things just by spreading the word. smiley: sad We can't do the job of the marketing department. The lack of media coverage is something that really annoys me, and is due to poor advertising and not enough hype about Endless Legend. smiley: mad

But the least we could do is tell our friends/acquaintances about EL...

Also isn't EL in "Steam's Top 10 Most Popular/ Selled" ? It's not the game season, but still... I only hope more people see this beautiful video game.

Not a review, per se, but an Escapist Magazine guy has been playing the game all afternoon on a Twitch livestream and has had close to 1,000 viewers watching. He's been saying pretty good things about the game.

This is a lot more relevant now with steam changing the store front quite a bit. I fully expect EL to get more sales due to the new 'Queue' system. In this way as well ironically if they time a big update to launch like a week after Beyond Earth comes out steam would likely add Endless Legend into everyones queue's who bought Beyond Earth for being another popular 4x that got an update. This way they might be able to turn a competitors release into an advantage :P

Have you guys thought about contacting TotalBiscuit with a review copy? He has quite a large following on youtube and he's into 4x strategy games ^ Especially now with that steam curator thing implemented

I was thinking the exact same thing. It would provide EL with a massive boost in exposure.

http://www.strategyinformer.com/pc/endlesslegend/reviews.html Score: 7,5

Thankfully Endless Legend's super-slick art style and creative world-building largely overcome the game's flaws. It takes a while to get going; unlike the very best titles in its genre, it doesn't present complex information to the player in a concise and understandable way, which means it can sometimes be a frustrating experience for new players. Stick with it though, and you'll find an enjoyable experience that packs in a huge amount of replayability. It's the smart faction design that's the key – Amplitude has done a fantastic job of creating races that feel distinctly different from each other, each offering an interesting new take on traditional 4X gameplay. I don't think Endless Legend is quite the finished article just yet, but there's a solid and likeable core experience here that deserves your attention.

Personally I think reviewer is quite ok, but he is missing the point about the combat system and how well it works in MP turn based games. (He criticizes the combat system so that is why I mention this - and it clearly shows the game is reviewed based on SP alone)

That's a good idea, he does allot of indie games. If I were Amp's marketing team I would contact him ASAP with a review key.

This game would be perfect for his "WTF is..." segment. He's featured 4X games in the past too.
