On the one hand, more importantly he's featured endless space already and I'm certain that helped a lot. On the other hand, I'm almost 100% certain that they've already sent a review code to TB, so it's on his pile of a million things to deal with. Now, since he's featured endless space already and the 2 titles are very similar he might do a wtf is on endless legend on that basis alone, but he is really busy right now with personal issues and will soon be going into surgery because of his cancer, so he might juast not have the time to jump into it, which will be a problem. Seriously though guy

Have you guys thought about contacting TotalBiscuit with a review copy? He has quite a large following on youtube and he's into 4x strategy games ^ Especially now with that steam curator thing implemented

I believe he's gotten so big that unless he decides to take a look at it on a whim, the only other way to get him to do it is via a paid promotion. He's raking in the cash these days.

Reviewers are outdated and out of touch with what gamers like. Yes some might fuzz at the combat system but in my oppinion many will love it for how it lets you fight when you want during your turn and in a chess like tactical situation. And as prophetbudda says sp same as mp negative? Please...

Stuff like this happens because EL dare to do new things in the genre and the reviewer does not understand the genre well enough to see this is a novel and good move. I wish there where more reviewers that actually loved and knew tbs genre better.

Yeah, you guys listen to this guy above. Pretty much what I thought, and some more.

I just wanna say I really love the tactical battle in EL. I'm a veteran gamer and have seen a lot of different approaches when it comes to battles in strategy games. It's the closest I have ever seen to the feeling that a game of chess has, and somewhat improves upon it by executing something that is really hard to so in not-virtual environment; by making the tactical decisions simultaneous. I realize it's sort of a natural evolution of the system in ES - best things bout that system was exactly that, plus simple rock-paper-scissors mechanic. It truly shines in battles with human opponents, because it develops significant psychological component to it - you know, the "I know he knows I know he's gonna do this, so maybe he's gonna do that" sort of thing. It's what makes legendary games like poker, well, legendary - and it's present in EL tactical combat too.

Look at tactical combat in HoMM, or AoW, for example - it's much more complex in the systems presented, but at the same time decisions that you make during combat are very very simple, obvious really, which makes it feel like a chore after a while. Now look at chess - rules are simple, but the opportunities that creates are amazing enough to make people still play it obsessively, even though it's outdated as ****. This is true strategy, not some caricaturized husk most strategy game titles present nowadays.

Do not add anything on top of it amplitude. It's simple, yes - anyone that makes it look like a flaw is either lacks the capacity to understand what possibilities it creates for amazing meta-game, or perhaps didn't look at it long enough to discover it. You managed to create something amazing with it, and I personally this component is what makes EL a truly great game. I mean from what I've seen so far, I'm pretty confident it's on par with AoW:SM, my long lost love. Tactical combat itself is even better. So please. Be very careful with it.

EDIT: Sorry for getting the thread a little sidetracked, but I kinda felt like this would be a good place to express my gratitude.

It needs to be balanced. That's it... and the grid might be too small, but that's neither here nor there at the moment.

A very very long review video. I honestly can't directly find his rating, but on his list, it is listead as a 7 or 8 out of eight.
I really enjoy his reviews; James Allen seems to like the same games I do, most of the time.

I'm happy he also enjoyed Endless Legend (not surprising - he was very excited by the Early Access version already).

But... but... the scale of battles and the management options clearly show that they chosed the civ level.

If I quote what they said, that doesn't mean that I share their opinion or even condone it. It's just their hypothesis.
