So, I think you heard the news.

Dungeon of the Endless was not the only title Amplitude's been working on. There's also Endless Legend - a fantasy take on a non-interstellar 4x strategy game set in the Endless universe. And by fantasy I mean vampires. And orcs. But mostly vampires (can we get werewolves too? Pretty please? <3 )

It looks like there's some serious time paradox going on as well. Because, from what I could gather, ES, DotE and EL are all connected. In DotE prisoners from what I assume is the universe of Endless Space crash on the planet where EL (Endless Legend) takes place... only EL is a prequel to Endless Space. Wow. I know. Mind blown.

Or I just got it completely wrong :3

Anyway, it doesn't look like there is a forum for EL just yet so I decided to post this topic in off-topic forums

What I am very excited about is the fact that (apparently) your actions and the actions of other players will have influence on what your world becomes. So I assume you can play like a Craver and devouer everything and everyone and by the end of the game, the whole planet will just be a barren, lifeless rock. If that's how it works then this is truly awesome! And it gives so much RPing potential.

Also, the graphics are goregous. Yet again, Amplitude studios prove that it knows how to make a good looking game!

Well, considering that they have a directed us here through their official announcement, they should turn the forum on.

I'm interested, but if diplomacy feels as dead and boring as it does in Endless Space, I won't like it.

I think it is a safe bet to say that all the relationships people are at the gamescom.

I would expect news after the Gamescom.

Not saying that as a ninja or a VIP, just an educated guess.

The usual things really - Stay active, be helpful and constructive. Quite a few back from the Endless Space alpha/beta days are now some kind of special member. Some of us even got invited to Gamescom last year as a nice little surprise.

So I had a good look at multiple articles about Endless Legend, now that there are actually people writing about it. But they all pretty much repeat the same thing. Nothing new from me, I'm afraid.

Fun fact - it looks like all the articles I could find are just copies of the same article. Everything (but the very first article on EL) is identical. Lawl

Amplitude does promise to give us 8 factions to play with. I assume it's going to be just like with ES where we get to alpha test the first 5 and then gain access to the remaining 3. I'm curious if there'll be room for custom factions but given the visual design of the game, I have my doubts. Unless the game will also feature a simple editor to change the color, scale and weirdness of your units - that would be awesome but also highly unlikely.

Another fun fact - there will be Dust in this game!

I'm very curious about the factions. I mean, we know about Broken Lords (humans?) and Vampire Lords. Orcs are mentioned and elves are visable on the screen shots but I could not find any confirmation if they get their own civilizations or not. One assumes, they do.

So what other factions could we get? I'd love to have something related to Korean mythology. Sure, I'm biased and I admit it, but there really aren't that many games that do that. Besides, having a three-legged-crow as your most powerful unit or as the EL equivalent of scientific victory would be amazing (what? According to the legends it was more powerful then dragons and phoenix)

Seems we have a lot 4X fantasy games lately. The screen reminds of Fallen Enchantress (which is not so good if you ask me), but I hope for something closer to awesome Eador.

I just hope that the devs rethink the multiplayer things including custom factions.

We all know an easy and quick access is the key of multiplayer games. Don't make the players wait and the mechanisms should provide as many games as possible for players to join.

Or make strong AIs for a great single player game but I think it is much more difficult and needs more time and effort.

But, Endless Legend must be a great game and it is more tactically interesting.

For a fantasy game, why not have custom kings or lords instead?

With what you army is made from being based on the locals you control.

In the above screenshot if you look to the left at the red hexes i think those dudes with hammers are dwarfs. Anyway EL is a nice surprise indeed and one of the games i look forward to see (wish i could participate in the beta :cool

. As someone else mentioned i hope they give more attention in diplomacy cause at least imo in ES was seriously lacking.

Custom factions would be welcomed but even more welcomed would be custom units. Hope devs thinking about custom units too.
