Does anyone know how long it will take for the wiki to update with the new info?

None but the Devs would know I reckon.

The United Empire is going to be a Major Faction in the game. It is impossible not to with the amount of artwork they feature in.

Whether or not they are the 4th faction will remain to be seen.

I have to assume the 4th faction is going to be human (if there's not more than one.)

Although, considering how human heavy Endless Space 1 and Endless Legend was, it would be hilarious if humans only showed up as a minor faction

No chance of that I'm afraid.

Humans are what we call a "mandatory" faction in every kind of game out there.

If they absolutely have to add a human action to the game then I hope it's the Pilgrims as a Pacifistic/Religious faction.

Heck, I'd take anything over the United Empire and their god awful ugly ships.

I'm not sure if the ship in that final image is even large enough to be classed as a corvette.

And Blackbird1696 is right: The Caraque had a very different display model than the combined military fleet. And that is all I will say on the identity of that mystery ship.

Most of us assumed that Minor Factions would get ship models seeing as how they can move around like the neutrals in EL. Some of them can be pirates so it would be silly of them not to have ship models.

But again, it's not 100% confirmed so we don't know for sure.

I just was re-watching the recent gameplay again when I noticed that the fleet icons do appear to differ. However I'm not sure to what degree, so it is possible that the ship belonged to a minor faction or was a transport as the scout ship in the video was different from the Lumeris fleet.

I think it's either a United Empire ship or one belonging to the 4th faction. Just take a look:

That circled ship is probably this one:

These ships are slim enough to match the one in the gamescom video. They are either new designs for United Empire ships, or the designs for the 4th faction ships.

Possibly. The second pic is more likely than the first though, as Amplitude said the top pic is just generic ships...unless they were trying to make it a surprise.

Okay, so if it isn't Lumerian or Sophon, then that means it's one of the 4th faction's ships.

One thing to keep in mind too, we haven't seen any of the minor factions' ships as well, and reason stands that each of them have one unique ship model...

EDIT: Or at least a re-skin

The problem with that idea is that we are currently under the impression that each faction has a static fleet icon to represent their units, regardless of ship types. Since we cannot play as minor factions and the fleet's color is that of a player faction, it stands to reason that the ship is of a major faction not yet revealed. On the other hand we haven't even got confirmation that we will be getting minor ships to use for ourselves, its just a conclusion we reached on our own.

What is a Lumeris? Is it a rank or job in Kalgeros society? Or a different race entirely? Other than that I'm really excited for the Mavros. I never knew I needed militaristic Sophons until now.

Nice find.

Loving the Minors.

Militant Sophons, Kung Fu Four Armed Marsupials... What's next, Horatio that preach the evils of cloning?

Holy hell, both are incredible intros, especially the Cravers! I never really played them in ES, but I definitely want to try them out this time around (I also feel attached by proxy, as I like the Necrophages).

So what is the role of that AI on the Sophon hierarchy? Is the AI supposed to be the player?

And is that dust explosion in the Cravers trailer, the same one as in ES2's reveal trailer? What is its significance?

Thanks, KoP!

The person and the role of the Sophon video narrator will become clear as you play :)
