Hi everybody !

We have been able to see, in artworks here and there, three factions not yet revealed.

The first obvious one, is the human faction (at least one faction, maybe more ?).

An other faction is a reptilian (or fishy) specie with three black eyes... seen with human and lumeris so probably not a militaristic faction ! (https://www.games2gether.com/endless-space-2/forum/65-general/thread/18855-es2-gdd-10-diplomacy)

The last one is a small green (frog like ?) specie (https://www.games2gether.com/endless-space-2/forum/65-general/thread/18851-es2-gdd-6-population)

So ? What do you think ? Major or minor ? What political ideology ?

Maybe someone have found other factions/species ?

I open this thread because i find that Lumeris faction was just under our eyes since the beginning and we nearly see nothing ...

Considering the two alien races you mention I think the first one with the 3 eyes could be a future major faction. Since he/she is sitting in a room with a human and a Lumeris and it looks like they are shocked of something. Perhaps a declaration of war since everything is colored red. Just a wild guess. But this could indicate to me that they are in some sort of alliance or all are part of one Faction. (This can only be if all population in your empire could be represented in the senate. What we know is, that minor factions heroes can be leaders of political parties. Which is seen in the Sophon pictures and the Harroshem.)

I firmly belief the next major faction revealed will be the Vaulters. Every artwork with a human give me a Vaulter vibe. Especially the human scientists next to the Sophon. The color and shape of the female clothes underneath her lab coat is very Vaulter like. Then the artwork from the Craver boarding a ship with 4 humans. These uniforms also look like Vaulter uniforms. The color scheme is different but these uniforms look like winter clothing. And then there is the blurred out 4 faction screen on the wiki. The blueish colors also scream Vaulters to me.

Oh I have to correct myself. On one pic there are some humanoid guards which points to the UE.

I've analyzed everything given to us about the game extensively since the beginning, so I hope you don't mind me throwing my hat in the ring. I actually suggested that the 3-eyed alien would be the third faction before the Lumeris were revealed at Gamescom, but ever since I've found what seems like it might be a reliable method to determine possible future Major and Minor factions.

YELLOW boxes highlight what I believ might be major factions. The fifth yellow box highlighting the flat-headed alien seems to be a good possible candidate for a future faction. Though I'm somewhat doubting it will be the fourth faction since in the gamescom livestream their leader was named St. Reola, which indicates a highly religous faction, possible even another group of humans.

As for this image of the Vaulters..

These soldiers are more probably United Empire troops. The Vaulters have had a visually distinct theme in every game, geometric shapes on their clothes and armor, and knight-like helmets. I doubt that theme would be broken in ES2. These soldiers on the other hand look as though they come from a more industrial society. It could just be me, but I personally doubt these are the Vaulters.

I hope the Vaulters are going to come soon. They always were my favorite faction. Good looking defensive scientists - an ideal choice for me.  I like the fact that we have a lot of alien races , but if I will have them , I'll definitely play as them.

I'm a bit disappointed if they all turn out to be Major Factions. I don't want to be a Negative Nancy here, but ES1 had distinct and vibrant factions from a design point of view. To see so few of them return in the second game, with sub par *insert humanoid alien here with weird head/extra eyes* feels like a step down creative wise.

I would take the Amoeba or Harmony over the "three eyed humanoid alien" any day.

I hope we get less humanoid stuff like in endless space with the amoeba, the sowers or the harmony , the typical human with different skincolor/extra eyes thing is boring imho  and while it will sound abit hypocrite considering myu previous statement i hope the horatio come back while humanoid yes they are one of the most original sci fi concepts i ever seen they are so coool to be lost :( anyway its 99% sure we are getting the vaulters and a player designed race ( probably the unfallen based on votes congrats unfallen creator!!) thats all we know i think.

While I hope the Vaulters are in ES2, I doubt the next reveal would be them. It doesn't make much sense for them to have 2 science heavy factions for the 4 that will be present when early access launches...

I'm sure we'll be getting plenty of unique races to play as.

Is it simply not possible that some of the aliens depicted within the concept art are just that- concept art? Granted the Lumeris was right there all along, but as people have said, many of the races within the artwork look quite generic. I find it unlikely Amplitude wouldn't make their factions just as diverse as they have been in previous games.

We don't know, that's the problem.

I think there arent any more factions that can be found in the artwork. If you look at that red room with human three eye and lumeris artwork(Which IMO looks like a Stock market kinda thing, probably some kinda stock newscast type deal), you could have noticed that the Lumeris clearly had a more complex design then three eye(assuming humans are no news anyway since theres no way they're not gonna have the Generic United Human Empire again, and I assume this time it's actually gonna be united.). The frog I think was already confirmed to be a placeholder artwork if I remember correctly.

And besides, now that we know the Lumeris have been there on that artwork all along, we can assume there are no more factions hidden in artwork since Amplitude probably knew we were gonna notice that the Lumeris had been there all along and look at all the artwork again.

Pretty sure this anarchist in the picture is going to be a major faction... having see anything else quite resembling it yet in the other concept art

Same! If there are going to be aliens let them be truly alien!

Is it just me or does the new religious faction which was briefly glanced at in the recent stream look like the Broken Lords?

Now that you mention it yes, yes they do. The naming theme also fits (St. Reoia), and they have a sword... *Prays for different faction affinity*

I agree that the Broken Lords don't seem like a religious faction. Given their humanoid figure I reckon they could be an offshoot from the United Empire, like the Pilgrims or Sheredyn? Especially like the Pilgrims given they viewed the Endless with a certain religious reverence...

I was actually discussing it with my friend. It looks like the race might actually be either a race of cyborgs or machines, which would be quite cool. Imagine pop growth through industry?

Yeah upon a second examination the humanoid's head has a kinda sculpted quality to it. Cultists confirmed! Though as much as I'd love that I doubt it, I don't think they were popular enough in the returning faction poll. True, that'd be great actually. Pretty much the anti-Unfallen.
