The Cultists seemed pretty religious, weren't they? I mean just the word 'cultists' is pretty indicative of that, no? Not to mention the whole 'Eternal End' thing, seemed to smack of religious zealotry to me. Oh, and wasn't one of the units called Fanatics though I might be wrong?

I think there's always been a good chance that the final early access faction was going to be human or at least transhuman. It would be strange if none of the EA factions were, though it is of course possible.

The lower legs look really thin and if you look closly it appears as if they have a visible gap. Reminds me a little bit of protheses for athlets who lost their legs. Or like in the new Deus Ex games.

Also the proportions are a little bit off for a human being. The overall body is too short, the legs are too long. Looks like she has barely any belly/waist.

But I agree with Gwydden that they have some similarities with the Sisters of Mercy. Perhaps a placeholder? The overall pose reminds me of the Sisters.

So I guess these won't be the Vaulters as I a first exspected.

OK new theroy: What if they changed the background story for the United Empire? The pictures in the diplomacy screen are definitely the leaders and not excactly a visual representation of the population. This can clearly be seen with the Lumeris leader, she is very distinct in her design. So what if St. Reoia is actually the new leader of the United Empire? Some kind of enhanced human being? A cyborg like many of you mentioned?

It was stated before, that last two EA factions are totally new to the lore (i.e. Lumeris and 4th religious faction). So it's not someone we know in one form or another from previous games.

The long legs might just be for extra sexy points, though  It doesn't seem to me like her proportions are significantly more "off" than the Lumeris leader, who also has very long legs and little torso (flotation devices notwithstanding).

Admittedly, women in EL don't look like that, but they seem to be going for a somewhat different art style this time around. I'm just having trouble picturing the artists or the writers thinking "hmm, what if we make a faction of midgets standing on tripods?"

if the faction is gonna be carried over from endless legend I would say cultists.

 otherwise I have no real idea, although it could be the argent mages inside robot bodies seeing how in they ascend to become like the virtual endless.

I am 100% we are getting the vaulters they are the protagonists of the endless franchise and there are sophon and craven arts depicting them.

I think it was confirmed that the new faction is a completely original one that is unique to the lore. So whilst I'd love to see a return of any of the races in EL to be honest, the incoming religious faction isn't one we're already familiar with.
