That said, I don't particularly mind if it's 'late', I'd much rather they gave us the best version of EA possible.

While I agree with the sentiment that we should get the best possible version of EA possible, the whole idea of EA is to work out the kinks using the community. Leaving the game a little under-baked might allow for some medium level changes to game play. If we get an almost complete version, then we might as well skip EA.

At least they are willing to delay instead of pumping the EA out full of bugs (like some other strategy games which shall remain unnamed).

IMHO the problem is with customer expectations.  The original point of Early Access was that it was an unfinished game.  It *should* have bugs.  The fact that it has morphed into a marketing gimmick is hurting everyone gamer and developer alike.  Especially indies.

The problem is, people create such a hype for the release and cant wait for it... there is still some days left on their deadline, so just relax and wait till it is october for your inapporiate comments for not releasing the EA till today... Don't start shitstorming before there is a reason for it -.-

So unless there's been a delay that seems to be their target.

If there was a delay, wouldn't Amplitude make an official announcement about it?

That's the problem with Amplitude these days. They are really dropping the ball with communication lately. They may not announce a delay. They may only announce when it's coming out a few days in advance. It could be early December until we hear anything were they might suddenly say "Early Access is coming in 4 days" and not a peep about any delays. This bothers me a lot because they used to be really good at communicating with their player base. Now they communicate with their SEGA masters and their precious VIP fanatics.

Very sad to see a company I had so much respect for going down this path of lacking communication and ignoring their fan base. Before my attitude was to buy anything that came from this company - now I'm starting to have second thoughts. Does not feel like the same people I supported back in the beginning.

Took the words right out of my mouth, Luring. Definitely been getting this vibe too. I don't mind so much that they changed from an "end of Summer" deadline to a "September" deadline. It's the fact that there was a lack of open communication. Something like, "Hey guys, I know we said the latest we'd go for is around Sept. 21, but we feel the current state of the game can use more polishing before we're comfortable releasing it on EA. Hence, we moved our deadline goal to around Sept. 31. Here's to hoping there are no more delays!" I mean, it's not that hard to type that out. I'm really really hoping that they're just swamped by all the hectic-ness and not because there's a decline in communication.

OK there are two almost indentical threads about EA. So I just copy and paste my replies.

I too want some more communication from the devs. But Frogsquaddron is on vacation and he is really vocal and responsive.

I think we just should relax. Please people stay calm and don't get hostile, mind your tone please. Criticism is OK when it is voiced reasonably, and not like:

Maybe it needs to be delayed (VIP's will say so because they want to feel important and keep it for themselves) and maybe it doesn't. Whatever it is, COMMUNICATE! Time for Amplitude to pull their heads out of their rear ends and talk with the major buyer group of their products before they start moving on.

The VIPs are part of their Q/A and if they say wait for EA, then they wait and fix some major bugs. They decide in which state they will deliver to EA. And be honest there are many good EA titles and a lot of bad ones. So they want to be seen as a rather good example. September isn't over yet, Stephanie said on the Steam forums very soon. So it shouldn't be too long or we should get a delay massage in the next days. Relax.

Oh? Well, if I get a delayed massage I should probably be really relaxed. A good massage can do that. But besides amplitude giving us massages, I really hope they give us a message if the early access is going to be delayed or not - which is what that post was really about.

At this point they should rename Early Access to Late Access

Four days, including today, to go. Perhaps a Friday release? Cutting it close, though. Should just announce it's delayed if it is.

I guess you guys meant: "They gave us one purpose....to test Early Access.... over and over and over."

I really hope that I will be able to play this game on my laptop... Does anyone knows about the recommended configuration to be able to play it ? I run a mac laptop from early 2015 (2,7 GHz Intel Core i5, RAM 8 Go, Intel Iris Graphics 6100). I'm able to play smoothly on stellaris, hoi4 and of course the endless games at mid to low settings (and by tweaking them a little bit), I hope that it will be sufficient.

While I'm sure your computer will be able to handle the game, what is in question is whether or not Mac OS will be supported when it's first released on Early Access...

I'm hoping they stagger Tempest and ES2 EA releases a little; personally I'd love to play Tempest while waiting for ES2. In any case, the wait can't be that much longer...
