Got to admit I hope horatio will be a minor race... they just never felt like they should be a major race to begin with.

In general I think most of what we have seen in ES 1 will be included as minor races... because why not.

This is me as well.  I know the Horatio have their fans, but I never found them that interesting.  Their concept is pretty much a joke ( love their aesthetic-driven designs though)

Yeah, I find them to be narcissistic punching bags, and the 'faction made of one bald guy and himself' is legit hilarious.

Would be surprised if the Vaulters are not here as a major faction. Would be a bit strange. Destroy such a tradition? Also I've seen OpBot recently. Well , it means that they are definately here. As what is OpBot going to do without them? Would be bad if they are a minor. As they are my favoirite , I'd have to look at them and to understand that I am never going to play as them. It is going to be a torture.

But maybe they just changed their name for us not to spoiler everything? But why should they do that? Vaulters are not a concept. They are already known in the studio and the change is not needed. Who knows...

Vaulters were just an addon to ES1, so to me it's not surprising that they are not a major faction in ES2.

They were a major faction in Endless Legend though. And we know that at least one of the factions on Auriga made it off onboard the Grey Owl.

And then exploded. If the Vaulters successfully made it off of Auriga (which they of course did), it was probably with the other ship from their main questline, rather than the Grey Owl.

...It didn't explode, they jumped out of the star system. And the Argosy had a broken life support system among other issues; the first part of the Victory Quest for the Vaulters is literally called Plan B.

This.

Although I wouldn't put it past Amplitude to add an EL faction to ES2 as DLC eventually. My money is on Space Drakkens.

I kinda hope not. Drakken felt pretty tied to Auriga and I don't think they would translate well thematically.

Can you find out what kind of law it is? Military? Industrialist?

Judging from the text I'd say it was Military, which makes sense, since we're getting two Pacifists factions as well, making the UE a Military Dictatorship feels right.

Military would be my guess.

By the authority of the Emperor of Mankind and the Ordos Xenos, I find you guilty of forming a conspiracy to consort with Xenos. The punishment is ... BLAM! BLAM!

You mean that corpse shackled to a golden throne? No thanks, my master Slaanesh has shown me true power.... and kinky stuff, lots and lots and LOOOOTS of kinky stuff.

Damnation comes for you, then.

Oh yes... the horror of living for hedonistic pleasure with the prospect of eventually becoming a Demon Prince and rule a world.

As opposed to what? Living a humble, whipped life in the service of a corrupt society that idolises a comatose "has been"? The prospect of dying for a cause I don't really believe in?

Not like it matters anyway, considering the fact that the Tyranid Swarm and Necrons at full power can wipe the galaxy clean of all life. Might as well enjoy it while it lasts.

Vampirilis is the working title of the Vodyani, so unfortunately no hint there. It is strange that it displayed that, and without the % designating a localization string.

I'm very wary of saying too much, VIP NDA and all, but I recommend checking the "Battle" subfolder as well.

We know about the Sowers and Humans. There is really only one Major Faction left that is a complete mystery.

We know about the Sowers and Humans. There is really only one Major Faction left that is a complete mystery.

Sowers? Can you point me to where in the files you found that?

After all, we already know there will be two returning and two new factions. Terrans was the UE tag in ES1. So going by the ship files above, as I see it: Horatio and UE, then "TimeLords" has to be new. So there's no room for the Sowers except as a minor faction.

That said, the "Terrans" could be new, since "Terran" is a really generic term, so I am interested in knowing where the information on the Sowers is. (The public files are quite different than the VIP files I dug around in before. Much more "sanitized").

Someone found clues regarding the Main Quest for a faction that mentions the Sowers. But hey, I'd rather the Automatons get added instead, as they and the Amoeba were my favourites.

The only reference to the Sowers I find in the quest folder is "TechnologyWonderSowers" on the Exploration Droplist.

In the Simulation folder, said wonder is listed as causing -50% growth but adding 30% of it to Industry.

So I have to say, I'm really not convinced the Sowers are back.

Not by itself it doesn't. But considering the fact that Wonder victory type is closely tied to Industry, and the fact that the Sowers fit the Industrialist faction archetype, it's not difficult to imagine them as one of the factions in game.

Like I've said before, besides the UE, only the Sowers and Automatons fit the last two political ideologies left. We know that two more factions are returning from ES1, one of them guaranteed to be the Humans.

That leaves Sowers and Automatons (which also fill in another void in the Major Faction line up as a robotic race) as the most likely candidates.

Again, this is my opinion and I don't expect you to believe me, but it is an educated guess based on the tiny clues the community was able to gather.
