Leaked photo of the Time Lords!!!

Time Lords is probably a placeholder name for the faction. However, it might give us a clue about it.

They could be a faction who safeguards the timeline by invading the past.

Nightbringer, Outsider, or Deceiver?

Thank you, Cat-O-Nine-Tails. The Pilgrims were Rebels or Rebellion, too. So, as the devs said the Lumeris are based on Venice among other things, and the Vodyani are somewhat religious space vampires, these Time Lords might be long-lived science isolationists or something.

UE was called UE in ES1 not Terrans.

He's referring to the xml files, not any localized strings. The tag used for the UE in the xml files was "Terran," as opposed to "Emperor," which denoted anything relating to the Sheredyn.

Oh, you're talking about the ES xml folders.

Because in ES2 they are referred to as Terrans only in the "Battles" folder. The ground combat xml clearly calls them United Empire.

It almost certainly is a placeholder as I'm quite sure that the BBC has "Time Lord" trademarked all to heck and back.

It's hard to say how much of a clue it gives us though. Dr. Who is so whimsical that I don't think it fits in very well. We haven't seen time travel yet and the mechanics would be a pain to program and balance, thus unlikely. I'm fond of the idea that Timelords refers to the Unfallen, as they "come from the future" so to speak; although it is unlikely.

I'm going to go with the idea that they are a race of manipulators, probably tied to the election mechanics and political parties. They'd be able to influence other race's elections and such.

Whatever the timelords are, I'm sure they will be exterminated and deleted with extreme prejudice. And still they'll always be back.

Got to admit I hope horatio will be a minor race... they just never felt like they should be a major race to begin with.

In general I think most of what we have seen in ES 1 will be included as minor races... because why not.

Also I guess down the road it would be sweet to have a feature to have every minor race as a major. That way everybody would be happy. Heck if it aint going to be an official feature it would most likely be something modders could do.

I wonder what's Timelords game? Save/load spam?

1. Having no weapons, no defences, and no plan, and still scaring their enemies.

2. Repeated genocide of the same species, including their own.

BTW there is another minor faction under ground combat which is called Eyeder and my guess is it's the one from the community vote.

Oh yeah... I almost forgot about that one. I'm curious to see how close to the original community concept they are.

Would be surprised if the Vaulters are not here as a major faction. Would be a bit strange. Destroy such a tradition? Also I've seen OpBot recently. Well , it means that they are definately here. As what is OpBot going to do without them? Would be bad if they are a minor. As they are my favoirite , I'd have to look at them and to understand that I am never going to play as them. It is going to be a torture.

But maybe they just changed their name for us not to spoiler everything? But why should they do that? Vaulters are not a concept. They are already known in the studio and the change is not needed. Who knows...

Vaulters were just an addon to ES1, so to me it's not surprising that they are not a major faction in ES2.
