Would like to mention gamebreaking feature you've introduced:


Vodyani heroes have ability that gives 1 flat FIDS / level to everyone in empire. That resulted in every of my population unit producing extra 26 FIDS, way too much for a single ability. Had to abandon the game, becouse it became waaay too easy).

Can't reload savegame


  • Summary / Title: Can't reload save

  • Version: 1.0.16
  • Note: Particular save contains Galaxy of the lasrgest size, with all races in game at turn 164

Workaround:

  1. Verifying local file integrity does not help
  2. Reverting Beta batck to latest patch resolves the issue

Even after the release, new content is still coming out, taking in consideration what players would like to see, love it!


I have a question : I heard Amplitude was a French studio, but I don't know if the entire team speaks French. Would I make the devs' job easier if I wrote French translations below my posts?

Hey AmpliMath


I verified the game files and reinstalled the game, twice. I am also unable to to start a new game (https://www.games2gether.com/endless-space-2/forums/65-general/threads/26986-preview-version-1-0-16-test?page=1#post-242054) and the game is crashing while alt-tabbing from the main menu (https://www.games2gether.com/endless-space-2/forums/65-general/threads/26986-preview-version-1-0-16-test?page=1#post-242054).


Had none of those problems on the previous patch and by changing the branch back to 1.0.11 all is working fine again, including the savegame.

I'm also on an old AMD apu/gpu so maybe some related issues are creeping back?

Hey Float,


So I have just reloaded your saved game on 1.016 (been playing the build with friends tonight), and it loads OK. Turn 63 game where you play horatio, right?


I strongly doubt that some systems can reload a saved game, some others cant. The saved game cannot be corrupted only for some computers. There may be something wrong with your install of 1.016. I suggest checking the files or even considering reinstall.

Not yet, no. This build contains lots of optimizations, fixes/improvements, and some new stuff we will announce next week :)

Nice secret new content additions and the game so far has seemed to function normally. :)

The basic functions and all previous content haven't bugged out at any point yet.




However I encountered a bug with the newly added unique hero related competitive quest which renders it uncompleteable.


Summary / Title

Competitive Quest: Invisible Chains uncompleteable


Description

The quest doesn't count any of the built Gamma Analysis Platforms towards quest progression. You can also build an infinite number of them on one system instead of them being limited to 1 quest building / system.


Steps to Reproduce

Start the competitive quest Insivible Chains and try building Gamma Analysis Platforms. Observe that you can build an infinite number of them and none of them count towards quest progression, doesn't matter whether built on separate or different systems.


Reproducibility

? Not sure. Speaking from experience of my first game with 1.0.16.


Expected Behavior

The quest counts built Gamma Analysis Platforms towards quest completion. Only one Gamma Analysis Platform can be built per system (three max for entire empire?).

I attacked the unfallen and was taking one system after another... turn by turn. then suddenly they defended their system with one very powerful fleet and destroyed mine (much weaker)


I will play more and report everything new!

Great news on the peformance.


We will look into the other issues.

I did, verifying files and uninstalling/reinstalling did not solve the issues. I'm in one of those old AMD apus/gpus - which had issues a few patches back and even it's own branch - so this might have something to do with what is happening now.



Went back to 1.0.11 and everything is fine and dandy. So yeah, there is something in 1.0.16 that absolutely is not working with my system.

  • Description: Having the technology to explore the moon and I couldn't explore the moon on one of the coloniezd planet of my main system. 

  • Steps to Reproduce: Having a moon on one of your colonized planet with an other big one anomaly.
  • Reproducibility: 5/5
  • Expected Behavior: Allowed exploring the moon
  • Version: 1.0.16

Yes this is definitely weird, unless one of the optimizations (we did some stuff on the improvement of influence circles) is not working. I have looked at the diagnostics file, but I see no error and it feels cut short, maybe because the game crashed. Can you send the Output_log file of the crash please?

Thanks, we will look into both your reported issues. It does not feel specific to the evolutions of 1.016, it could be older.
