Hi ES2 community! This is more or less a call out to all the ES2 fans who would want ES2 work to continue.

If you find ES2 finished and your experience satisfactory please go with "No, thank you." option.

If you like ES2 and want to see it brought to greatness it could be, please press "Yes, please.".

There is no need to bring up the individual issues you find the game has right now, but feel free to browse and add your voice to already stated issues in forum posts, keep up the good work bug reporting everything that seems out of place and providing savefiles, and please do not stop bringing up what bothers you in game design!

Have a nice day.

Endless is life, endless is love. And this game needs endless love for life. Or some love at least. For Awakening. At least.

There was an update to ES2 this morning? Is this not bug fixes? I guess it could be Endless Day stuff, need to see patch notes to really know

There were no updates. You've probably received deluxe edition upgrade for free.

I have already expressed it several times how disappointed I was with how little love ES2 received over the years. New content is always nice but polish is even more so. I expected, after having paid for every new DLC upon release, that I will receive the sort of product that I witnessed Endless Legend has become by the end of its cycle. Having played Endless Legend recently, I was very pleased by how such a nice and complex game it has become. I would not expect anything less from Endless Space 2. While I appreciate the hard work that I am sure goes into Humankind, I would like to raise the attention to the unfinished business that we have with ES2. Don't get me wrong, ES2 has been my top game with around 1500 hours in it, tons more than anything that comes after it, and it has caused me many hours of fun, but the more you play a game the more you realise the potential that lies in it.

I was fortunate and I feel thankful for being part of the Penumbra beta which turned out very innovative and very cool. I was also part of the controversial balance patch test group too, that experience left me bitter because I felt that just when we were about to figure out the direction the time was cut short and it went live before we could say amen to it. No wonder it ended up being controversial. I, of course, understand that game development is a business of its own kind so I never had any ill-feeling towards the dev's move because of it. At the same time, this sense of unfinished business kept coming back to me every time I booted up the game.

Endless Legend has been lucky to have someone who put the effort into the Community Patch to bring the game to its fullest. Endless Legend with ELCP is a joy to play! I am asking myself the question whether I will have to wait years for someone to come along and do the same to ES2. I am an idealist so my answer is that I should not. We deserve a finished product before all the weight is shifted to Humankind. So my answer is, yes!

Yes, I still want to see the lore-checked, rationalised, reworked tech tree.

Yes, I want to see the years old graphical glitches gone.

Yes, I want to see a final balance patch with the big brains and number crunchers from the community behind it.

As I have said above, ES2 is my all-time favourite game, the ONLY one that I have left a review for on Steam and the last game I would want to be let down by.

Would love to see a nice bug bash patch.

Also a Kalmat Hero would be nice. I was always a bit disappointing to me that it never got added with the minoe race.

I pitched in with my vote but I doubt it'll make any meaningful difference. You'd need Sonic levels of uproar to get Amplitude to revise their resource allocation and if that were the case the forums and the subreddit would be flooded with threads like this.

If they have time and resources to add a hero dog, I hope they have time for fixing some of the critical issues.

Let's get those numbers up then!

Artists don't fix bugs.

Fix the broken alliance system. It's the only thing aparT from bugs and better A.I that the game requires.

We also need the lost in the game but that is DLC.

Yes, please. The game is amazing, but there's so much bugfixing and balancing still left to do.

I know it doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things, but I'll buy Awakening and Penumbra if the bugfixing and balancing actually happens.

What do you mean by this? I was clearly speaking about priorities and resource allocation. And also about an approach to events like the Endless day.

What I meant is them adding new unnecessary  FREE content when they can spend this bit of resources and time on fixing critical bugs that have been out there for years sounds really like conformity. And even for artists there is a better thing to do for the ES2 like replacing cheap art for the academy screen or some of the population improvements that for now have old or out of place (thematically) images like planets with a huge pop overlay icon and a number...

I think everyone can agree that bug fixes are something that should be addressed, though for something that isn't a game as a service the justification to make the time for it isn't strong once a new project is in the works.

Balance patches would also be a nice thing for the developers to handle but, as evidenced by the likes of the ELCP, this is something that can be remedied in part by player-made mods. While not ideal I think it's a compromise between an active & devoted community and a developer that's moved on to a new project.

It is a shame that bugs exist still that have been known for years. I wonder how many people would trade the latest expansion for a more polished game?

And I think what twimpix means is that the difference in resources between adding what's basically a GIF and fluff text to a Hero template uses a much smaller amount of resources than diagnosing, fixing & testing bug fixes.

You are right in general, but in this specific situation there are crippling bugs that can be fixed within 5 minutes according to the modders. Like the special laws missing bug. So sometimes that is not an excuse. ELCP is great and highly appreciated, but even the core state of EL now is much better than the on of ES2. And there is no such hero as Leader Enemy Boss for ES2. There was an Aitarus balance mod, who had some healthy insight on the game, but I think it is abandoned now? Am I wrong?
