I love ES2 to bits and have owned since release.   But I don't think I've ever finished a game.   I always run into some bug or another that hoses my playthrough.   The pending turns bug (too many times),  having trade routes suddenly un-buildable,  the riftborn always taking over the universe if I play more than one session,  and the latest "auto-win if you assimilate the Sowers" bug (Terraforming discount starts at 50% but bugs out to 90% if you save/load a few times).

So kudos to Amplitude for designing a beautiful, complex, asymmetrical 4X.  However, to the extent that new DLC development is crowding out bugfixing I feel Amplitude is advising me to implement a new purchasing policy.

That is to say,  any of their future games will be ignored until they are 5+ years old with all DLC released and a community patch that addresses the most heinous bugs.

Endless Legend with the ELCP is now in this state and it is an absolute joy to play.   I hope ES2 will get there at some point,  either through a community champion such as LeaderEnemyBoss or Amplitude deciding they can afford to hire someone to work on bugfixing and balance full time.

So Humankind,  I'll see you in 2025.   Ditto for Endless Dungeon (or was it Dungeon of the Endless?  Wait,  I own that already..  that's confusing).

My nickel,  you have it.

purchased Es2 6 months after release bought all subsequent dlc's and over time the game has got worse not better in terms of bug's , it could have been a great game and still could be if these bug's were sorted out, but no ! 3 years after release we're still waiting ! and as for purchasing humankind why would i bother to spend money on it or any further product when amplitude have done such a poor job with Es2 i can think of other developers out there that are doing better jobs and delivering better products ! to say i'm annoyed that Es2 has become the standard on how not to develop and release a game including dlc's is an understatement, all amplitude have managed to do is damage their reputation and erode away any faith that future product release's won't receive the same treatment as Es2, if 3 years on the bug's had been ironed out i would have been congratulating amplitude on a job all done instead of stating that in future i think i'll keep my money in my pocket next time !
