Seeking clarification...

It very much should show up, UHD is also shown in the options if you own such a monitor. Overall graphic quality would get better, of course, although I indeed question how you intend to play this game at WQHD with an integrated graphic card. In this case I'd save the money for the WQHD monitor for a better graphic card instead, if you already own an average-ish FHD monitor.

Thanks for the feedback.  I unfortunately unwittingly bought a laptop that can only output via the integrated intel 530HD, and the GPU cannot be replaced, at least as far as I understand.  The other GPU is damned fine and my screen is just fine.  At least I will be able to see pretty pictures with the new monitor.

Yikes dude, the game is going to run like a slideshow if you try that... No external GPU docks or anything? If not, I agree with mixerria: Keep the resolution lower. You won't notice the difference in art quality; You will notice the difference between 30FPS and 3FPS.

It's actually not too bad at displaying cinematic battles at wqhd, given two flotillas vs. two flotillas.  I was surprised, because I was pretty sure the Intel GPU wouldn't be able to handle it.  We'll see how it performs in the full game.  Even ran the game on 'beautiful' just fine.

You got a +1.

Awesome music in all their games. Think is part of the "French touch".

I see, having a way to quickly see what changes when you are messing around with the settings

Would it be suitable for sound settings too? Like having a button to play sounds in order to preview how the different types of sounds are mixed together?

A button for mixed sounds... Hmm, that's really a new one and to be honest I'm not sure if the benefit is really that big to justify "another" button in the menu.

Anyway, the preview for planets and ships is definitely really nice to have.

Option to skip the system discovery animations entirely.

Option for quick animation for movement, launching probes.

Because sometimes I have a short attention span and am impatient with even the smallest animation delays ^^

GAME

Option for standard construction list filter. buildings/shipyard/both

Or maybe the option to lock at the current filter.

Because as a craver I am fleet orientated player, but as a Lumeris I often don't build any ships until midgame. I want to adjust the the standard to the race I'm playing.

Said in other posts (sorry if tiresome):
  • An option to see the planets ordered from most hot nearest to the sun and colder further to it. Of course I understand there's people don't like it. Make it an option.
  • An option to choose if you want or not a minor faction in your starting system. Consider even an option to choose that faction. Lots of threads about it's implications with political parties changing.

If you feel this is not from this thread, just move to the proper one.

I see what you did there...

Although these animations are very nice, they feel unnecessary after the first dozen systems explored. I'd rather have a short summary table with the planets as rows and columns for planet type, FIDS, size and anomalies (+maybe population/outposts).

This should not be an option, this should be the standard. Seriously.

Not exactly a game option, but game setup option. xD Anyway, I strongly support this.

About bindable controls: I was wondering about the CTRL+click combinations and similar for forcing a fleet to move outside node strings, like ES1 (don't know if I made myself clear). If it's implementend, put it in the controls.

About audio: Can we select mono? I lost an ear as a child, so when using stereo and headphones, I lose some of the music or sound fx. I understand this can be a rare case, so no hard feelings if not

+1 to skip system discovery animations... we've stated it a couple of times in the forums! ;)

There could be an animation speed x1.0 x1.5 x2 x4 slide bar instead of removing them fully, maybe?

I'll be looking for more after tomorrow :)

Hello everyone

Today I'm asking for your input regarding the game's options!

I'd love to hear your thoughts about the following subjects in particular:

  • What new options would you like to see added and why?
  • What already existing options would you like to see changed, why and how?

Of course, some types of options are easier to implement than other but we'll consider every suggestion before taking a decision!

However, please keep in mind that our manpower is limited and some options that have already been suggested in various places might not be something that we can do or at least not at the moment.

For example, full support for 4K scaling or individual graphics options (Models Quality, Textures Quality, Shaders Quality, Anti-Alisaing) are out of our current scope because it'd require resources and time we do not have right now.

For a quick reminder, here are the currently existing options:

I don't know, if implementing such a button takes just an hour or so you can try it. Maybe it's absolutely nice to have it, I wouldn't pass final judgement until this has been at least tried. :)

Uhh I can't speak for anyone or promise anything but according to the wikipedia page for Mono sound it shouldn't be too hard to make stereo channels into a mono channel in theory but it's not a top-quality way to do that:

Disadvantages of merged stereo [may] involve [...] the effect of muffling the final sound output [...] more stress on the loudspeaker [...] prevents player from discerning what direction distant SFX are coming from.

Anyway, I'll keep the idea somewhere and see with the rest of the team whether it's doable without sacrificing too much quality

Not sure if both are super usefull :

UI:

- Fonts size

- Exploration probes : cycle ON/OFF

"Exploration probes : cycle" is set on "on" actually : when you launch a map probe (not an "annomaly probe") then you can launch a second one by clicking again. This control mode stays even if your ship have 0 probe left (which is a bug).

If set on off, you would have to click on probe, then launch one, then reclick on probe then launch one.

-edit- by the way "ship auto-rest if left doing nothing at the end of the turn" would be fine too, but is it changed in the next update ?
