Game crash on startup, none of the current fixes are working

Okay add, reinstalling the dot net and a full reinstall of the game to the things that I've tried and failed. I'm stumped at this point.

The beta was rolled into the mainline yesterday. 


Restart Steam.

Rightclick on ES2 in your steam library -> Properties->Local Files tab-> Verify Application Cache

this will ensure you're on the latest version of the game that accepts this parameter


General tab->Set Launch Options


Put in --disable-ai into the box


Click OK


Launch ES2

Okay, I've tried this and it still will not work. I think I'm about ready to give up and get the steam refund.

You'd need to post your system specs from Steam-Help-System Information

I think that part of the problem is that my computers graphic card cant handle the game, because I know games are always set at max graphics when you start. Unfortunately, I cant change the settings because I cant get to the menu screen...

Does the output_log.txt file still show that error of the "Fallback handler could not load library. <blah>"


Its wierd because the error seems like the dotnet wrapper is failing (note I'm kinda guesssing given the error), so its either that the file doesnt exist, or it cant access it.


Have you tried running Steam and ES2 as an admin?

Well the game is already on my antivirus white list and I have re-verified the game cache too and it still won't work, this gets stranger and stranger.

Now I know many people have had this occur to them, you load up the game and it gets past the SEGA screen and on to the loading screen, the loading bar fills up slightly and BAM! game crashes to desktop with no warning whatsoever, now this is a very common occurrence and many people have come up with various fixes fir it, however my problem is that none of these fixes that have been suggested so far are working, I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same issue or could suggest another possible fix I could try. attached below is a link to the steam forum page where I have been discussing it


My computer is a AMD quad core with no integrated graphics card

I have DirectX12 installed

my GPU is a Nvidia GTX 750TI

and my operating system is windows 7 (64 bit)

Where would I find these dot net applications and redistributables dictionary?

the fact that the dotnet wrapper is failing may seem to indicate that one of the dot net installers is corrupted. You might want to try


1) unisntalling all dot net applications

2) REBOOT

3) reinstall them from the redistributables directory

4) REBOOT

Folks,


We have reproduced this behaviour by launching the game EXE with Steam not running. Have you tried to reboot and restart Steam?


This may not be the issue but what you describe is happening as we experienced it.
