Thank you!! Such a quick response to an issue that has caused a small number of people major issues. :)

I am still having this issue of Menu not appearing, even if I use the "fixAMD".

Maybe it's because I'm using a MacBook Pro?

MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012)

Processor 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5

Memory 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Graphics Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB

The fix works only for AMD graphic cards, and supposedly on Windows.

The HD Graphics 4000 should work.

Have you tried adding command line parameters in Steam? Try to input "dx10" in the launch option in the properties.

If you can find it in your system, we need your Ouput_log.txt file.

Thanks

Hi folks, same here I'm afraid, no menu displayed after the loading bar fills up with an Intel HD 5500 in windows after trying *everything* else suggested in these forums this afternoon :)

Other specs are i5-5300, 16gb RAM, Windows 10 Pro. It's a Lenovo x250.

There's an output log below if helpful:

output_log.txt

Really hope there's a fix for this, I've been looking forward to the launch for ages and bought it this morning on my first day off but can't get it launched!

I got it to load the menu! After a complete fresh reinstall with an edited registry file and using -dx10 I got as far as being able to start a new game!

Now it crashes when creating that game though.

I'll see if you've answered this elsewhere but the new output log is below if helpful:

Hello,

This fix worked for me fine, as I was pulling my hair out since the release figuring why does the same error from the Early Access repeated again! (Which I fixed by updating my driver back then) Kudos to the devs for giving such a simple solution to an annoying problem!

However, every time I wanted to see the battle real time, it always crashes when the ships came out from the warp, does that have anything to do with the AMD graphic card? (I am using the non-fixamd beta after I changed the registry in the documents)

I am using ATI/AMD Radeon HD7600M as my graphic card, and I already updated it to the latest available version from the vendor's website.

Do I have to decrease the graphic quality to Simple or change to the amdfix beta for the meantime?

Basically the issue is that they added some ships to the main menu. While looking cool this caused some older AMD cards to fail to render the ship and the game crashes. The fix for it is to disable rendering the ships in the main menu so the game at least loads.

When you view the battles, you're running into basically the same issue, the ships can't be rendered so the game crashes

The devs are aware of the issue. For now please skip any ship battles. This fix was just a temporary "lets get you at least into the game". They're working on a more permanent fix so you can view the battles and the cool main menu stuff.

Can you remove the dx10 tag from the launch options. Or does it not launch otherwise?

Thanks for the quick clarification! I must be patient then, although it really helped that the soundtracks got a huge facelift, I loved it!

Anyway, I really appreciate how you guys are really listening and helping us out here, and quickly for that matter. Kudos to you guys!

Hi satoru,

Without the dx10 tag it won't get past the splash screen/white bar.

With the dx10 tag I get to the menu and faction selection/game setup screen, but it then crashes at "game launched". Nb, unlike others with the directory characters bug, it doesn't get as far as "game launched and ready".

Thanks for your help guys, hopefully I'll get to play it some day!

[further update] It looks like the screen output is freezing, but the game's actually firing up, so it may not be a 'crash' as such - I get the intro speech and can click and drag on the screen to get a hand cursor. Still not playable though!

Seems like its crashing on a directx dll

Can you

1) Reinstall ALL the redistributables from steamapps\common\endless space 2\_commonredist

2) reboot your system

Another reviving of the thread:

For me the game never works, infinite loading screen with the music and the loading bar at 100%. nothing changed since my last post 2 years ago.

I just reinstalled the game, curious to see if anything changed but nothing, same situation as in my last post 2 years ago.

Perhaps you find a solution in this steam thread: Cannot Start Issue - Compilation Thread
