Let's not go there. I'm sure Devildog didn't help found his website just to get followers that he could use for a competition. And I don't think there's anything wrong in saying "hey, there's a competition going on and I posted my submission!" It's giving more exposure to the other entries as well.

Full exposure, I own a youtube channel and I also mentioned this competition so it's in my interest to defend Devildog. Still, I stand by what I said.

At the end of the day, there are only 12 entries now so we can hope that all visitors will take their time to read all submissions and pick the one they like best

Random question for the devs; what the heck are the two different bars on the main votes page supposed to signify? Clearly the different colors are tracking something, I just have no idea what

I suppose it symbolizes the time before the end of the vote.

Is it the relative number of votes vs number of g2g points, in order to be able to distinguish grassroots support from heavy hitter support? With these many options, you ran out of colors though. The tooltips for the bars extend all the way to the right. :p

Didn't mean to bring up a sore spot Frogsquadron! If it makes you feel better, I don't think it makes much sense even if you can tell the colors apart

A shame the Grace didn't make it, they were pretty close before they vanished from the contest leader board. They were on the first page (by most popular) but when they got knocked off by the complaints thread they didn't turn up on the second page. Still missing :(

Wow, this EndlessCrashes guy actually adds people on Steam just to spam advertisement for his  submission. That's so obnoxious and totally uncool.

Dude, i don't need to see your submission bumped over and over on these forums, reminded about it on Steam discussions, and then even be bothered further with friend invitations and chat spam. I've made my decision long ago and I'm sure others can do so on their own too.

You don't care about sportsmanship or for the best idea to win. You're obsessed with shameless self-promotion.

I'm sorry I bothered you with my promoting.  I usually say "If you like my entry", I'm not forcing you to vote.  I understand this can work against me and annoy some people, if they have already voted, I just say "Have a nice day!"  If I didnt care about sportsmanship I wouldnt be polite about it, and the "best" idea is purely subjective.  Many people I've contacted didnt even know the contest was going on, so I'm probably bringing in more votes for this competition even if they arent for me.

Yes, I think you're right. Both for definition and for the fact that we ran out out colors. We'll look into it for the next vote.

Indeed, the rationale is to have a random overview of the votes distribution (by amount and points). We did not anticipate having so many vote options though :3

Contests and votes are core features of the platform and we plan to take them a lot further than what we've got today. Having them live now (in alpha), plus your feedback is of great value to help us get it right, so thanks again for that!

Also, congrats to all the contestants!! As always, it is amazing to see so many cool ideas! I am sure the faction that will be ultimately created will be a favorite (*winking at the Cultists*).

Another byproduct of this revote is to reinforce how effectively the original voting system worked.

It should be interesting to see what the standings are after this 7 day period.
