In my current testing game my faction met Amoebas and we signed a peace treaty.

"+50 due to donations"? "Donations" in ES = giving your stuff to other factions for free, right?

The next turn another positive diplo modifier appeared ("+1 due to current exchanges"). But we had not made any deals.

I'm not sure whether this is bug, could anyone explain this situation?

I saw the same thing after making an peace treaty with Sheredyn. They were very happy about the deal according to the approval bar but no gift and no exchange. Yet, next turn they showed +50 or so due to donation.

I have two theories. First, it could be caused by the fact that the developers of this game don't speak English as their native language. Second, it could be that they wanted to reuse the text for donations rather than create yet another string in the localization file. I simply think of it as "+50 due to treaties" and "+1 due to current agreements".

It seems to me that both your theories are wrong. I offer peace to Sophons, they are ready to give me a tech and Titanium in exchange.

On these terms I won't receive "+n for donations".

I assumed "donations bonus" corresponded to a positive approval bar (cursor on the right) when signing a deal. For instance, if you sign a peace treaty the other faction is very interested in without requesting anything in exchange, the "wasted" approval (in the sense that you could have gained money if you'd asked for it for example) is valued as donation instead
