I Played a Multiplayer game as Harmony. In All My Systems i get Masssive Negative Research and Industry Points on my Ressources (Mostly -40 til -60 Points). This Reduces My Ressources to a Minimum.

What can I do to avoid Disharmony?

Greetings

Your planets are generating Dust, and this faction is designed to hate Dust. More planets generating dust, the bigger Disharmony penalty is. The researches for reducing expansion disapproval are good to reduce it (this is a faction unique thing, they don't have expansion disapproval, they have Disharmony instead).

Best system improvement for them is the one that you get when you research the ancient Endless and Mundane artifacts (to the North in the military tech tree, somewhere in the middle), you must build that as fast as you can, that will get rid of all Disharmony penalty, kills dust, and adds 1/3rd of Dust to science and 1/3rd to Food in that system, it takes 5 turns to build. If this improvement is finished on all your systems, your economy will skyrocket.

Thank you for your Answer. Disharmony is such an half designed Thing. For Examplas as Harmony on events i have the choice to to select an option to pay a negative dust (e.g. -2000) and nothing bad happends to me. I think this is unfair to players of other factions. Or is this really wanted by the developers.

Well, many of us actually think its unfair in the other direction. Since Harmony gets no dust, they are left out of a whole host of strategic options like rush buying, heroes, and dust diplomacy.

Also, I think events that cause negative dust cannot reduce your dust below 0 even if you're not Harmony. So if someone keeps using dust and keeps their balance low they can end up losing much less than 2000. Since this event tends to be encountered early in the game, its not that hard to pull off.

I would like it if events checked to see if they apply to a empire. For example, the Harmony doesn't deal with Dust, morale, or heroes, so they shouldn't get events that are related to these things. I think this would also balance the early game in their favor, as that means more ships and technologies would be given to the Harmony. Other affinities like Horatio could get more hero-oriented events, as they are focused on heroes.

Good idea, though how do you want to handle events affecting every empire in the galaxy like the dust cloud? Greying out options giving dust to you? (If it was realistic, that would totally kill your faction no matter what you choose, as you hate dust).

I've ran into so many Dust-related events as Harmony it wasn't funny...

Well, not just Dust-related, but Hero related too at times, like the ones where Heroes get XP boost, or Heroes get changed at the academy, etc etc. Always get me facepalming.... though I do find it funny I can just choose most dust-negative choice and don't have to worry about actually paying it at all. So yeah, any event that has dust choice, I choose to pay dust to get things, etc etc. -2000 Dust? No problem. -25% Dust for # of turns? Go ahead. smiley: biggrin

For me it is (though after realising I am so lost looking at the scores and actually give up, not that funny to be Harmony smiley: biggrin ), I always choose Dust, thinking hey, lets collect the biggest amount of dust so not the others, who would actually put that into good use, will have it smiley: biggrin This should really be addressed as they have no heroes or Dust, and it is annoying to have events not doing anything for you..

When it comes to global events and dust, the Harmony should lose out. There should also be global events that curtail dust for everybody, just to be fair.

On the other hand, when there is a +2000 dust event at round 8... the Harmony will lose the game for sure.

I actually like it when I'm playing harmony and get these events, as it means I am denying the other players (especially in the middle of a spiral galaxy) access to free hero options or points.

I do admit though they have weird interactions with the global events.

Weirdly enough I think these are one of the only areas where Harmony are left out, since most of the custom racial abilities have harmony alternatives (or just can't take them if they are dust related). Could be wrong though, feel free to correct me. smiley: smile
