BUG: Sliding the tax slider to the same position yields different results!

I recently became dangerously close to bankrupt and began playing with the tax slider and noticed the following:
• I first lowered my tax rate from 35% to 30% and it showed +20 income.
  • I then lowered it to 25% to see what that would get me.
  • Finally, I raised it to the same 30% as before, but now it showed -5 income instead!

  •
This works with science too. Just play along with the slider and leave it on a rate and remember it, then slide the slider from the opposite direction to the same rate and you will see that the numbers aren't the same as before.

So which rate is the true rate?

The problem is that changes to your empire dust income and science aren't immediately reflected in the empire screen; it takes a while for the game to automatically update these values. Moving the tax slider forces the game to recalculate these values, so the value you get in step 3 is the "true" value. If you didn't jiggle the tax slider, the game will still update and use the correct value at the end of the turn.

I agree this can be quite confusing and frustrating at times. For example, you can change a system's production to Ind->Dust in the empire screen, and yet the empire dust income in the same screen won't update to reflect this change. I end up jiggling the tax slider a lot in the empire screen just to update that number.

Sorry, but I do not understand what you are saying.

Either the slider shows the truth or you could just get rid of the numbers.

Right now, I get different numbers the second time I put my tax slider on a value and that makes the screen pretty useless which one would think warrants a fix.

He's saying the empire screen did not update properly until you moved the tax slider.

But yea, it's a bug. And I could have sworn the patch note said they fixed it too..
