What did she say? Something like "we appreciate your support in our efforts to achieve world domination"? ~_^

Maybe she warned the world that the cravers are coming and they're hungry.

Amen to that, those things are creepy (even though that would mess up the food chain smiley: stickouttongue)

Well, I just learned ES has been nominated for several unity awards:

https://unity3d.com/awards/2013/finalists

As a lot of us had a hand in making the game better, reporting bugs, theorizing about game mechanics or even adding to the game design, I'll tell you about the nominations as if we were nominated as a community. smiley: stickouttongue

We are nominated for the golden cube, something like the main prize, it seems!

We are nominated for Best 3D visual experience!

We are nominated for Best Gameplay!

We are nominated for Technical Achievement!

And finally, we are nominated for the Community Choice!

So, frankly, we've been nominated for every category we had any chance to be nominated for. At least I'm a little proud and I hope that several of you are proud of this, too. Let's hope that Steph comes back with a few prizes. smiley: wink

They haven't been picked yet right, because while bad piggies is fun, I do believe ES is better lol

Well, it is the one paradox that clearly states: Quantum mechanics and the theory of relativity do no mix in their current forms. ^^

I recommend this article: http://www.nature.com/news/astrophysics-fire-in-the-hole-1.12726

mmhhhhhh Quantum Mechanics and General Relativity do seem to have many discrepancies, but Quantum Mechanics and Special Relativity seem to go almost hand in hand (As close as any two theories can in the realm of Physics, anyways :P) In fact, when Quantum mechanics was born it was "designed" to work with Relativity, which of course led to our knowledge of Electron Spin and, at the time, the possibility of Antimatter, and subsequently, now, the existence of Antimatter.

So no, they don't Fully mix atm, but some problems could be solved without QT's need for information retention (as outlined in your suggested article)

Except, of course, for all the laws that would subsequently have to be modified :/

But of course, of the two options, if an Astronaut were to be fried by a subatomic firewall, then Relativity's basic ideals fall apart, and would have to be rebuilt on a new set, if at all possible.

Of course, you never said what you thought would happen to the Astronaut. Fried or Spagettified? But personally, I have no faith in either, as the antimatter travelling in the black hole would easily kill the Astronaut first, provided relativity is true as I still believe.

So that's my take. Go ahead, poke all the holes you like in my analysis lol

Well, if I remember correctly, I went over the complete particle zoo, consequences of electroweak symmetry breaking, higgs potential and radial excitations in form of the higgs boson, higgs potential stability bounds depending on higgs boson and top quark masses, neutrino oscillations, some clarifications about baryonic and leptonic matter, cp-violation, some very short kaluzza klein resonance explanations, electrical, weak and colourcharge, renormalization of charges by vacuum shielding and finally the good old question, whether astronauts will be spaghettized falling into a black hole or fried, before.

I gave Slowhands, InFlames and another french guy a 1 hour lecture on particle physics, at the gamescom. Yes, it makes a difference. Even if it is only for the atmosphere in this forum. And that nice atmosphere keeps the devs and mods (partially) sane. smiley: wink

XD that is awesome. Was it about particle physics as they relate to ES or just in general?

lol I wish I had been there... I have trouble getting my hands on (detailed) Particle physics subject matter.

^^no pun intended lol
