Automatons are they too powerful?

Id say yes. Am I the only one who every game, no matter who plays them eithier ai or computer will always come second to them? They just feel like they are over bonused...

Yes the automaton is very powerful, but I don't believe they are the powerfullest as their focus is on tall empires, which can easily lead to their defeat if they happen to have their few important systems blockaded for merely a turn. If anything the most powerful affinities are shredyn and horatio. Shredyn for their ability to ambush siege ships and heroes with a low fleet and horatio with their INSANE early food racial research

The Automatons are quite micromanagement based, and receive great bonuses for mastering it.

They are a advanced race, one that I cannot seem to grasp.
